It's hilarious reading some of the posts about Klaassen. People have just seen the headline, 'Ajax Captain 23mil' and still think he's a good player even after seeing how he's not suited to the league with their own eyes.

Why not educate yourselves and watch some of his old matches for ajax online? It makes it quite obvious the type of player he is.

Whether you think he’s good enough and will ultimately make it here or not, the fact is he hasn’t been given a fair enough crack of the whip. Others have stank the place out all season and have remained in and around the team so there’s no excuse not to have given him more opportunities.

Yesterday was 15 minutes in an end of season dead rubber where the team were playing dire.

Neither of the Klaassen supporters or the Klaassen detractors can claim it as a victory. Neither can point to yesterday and say "see I was right."

If he's here next season under a different manager then we'll see.

We should let him start next week, either to get him in the shop window or to give him an opportunity to show what he can do for us. Based on yesterday he’s not as useless as our managers this season have made out.

Certainly no worse than Davies, Rooney and Schneiderlin have been for most of the season. He will be involved in and around the box and probably would have contributed more in terms of goals than our other midfielders have recently (not hard).

Then how can you have such high hopes for Dowell? They’re in the same bracket. Oh and how about Ozil? He’s doing all right I guess.

You don’t have to be athletic. All you need is a manager who knows how to play to your strength and how to set a team around you.

The reality is Klaassen would have been one of our best midfielders all season based on the play of our midfield this year. Sad? Yes, but true.

It's simply not true. Klaassen has shown absolutely no sign of adapting to the premier league. Absolutely none.

I literally don't know what games you have been watching to think he would be one of our best midfielders. Even with the dross he's up against, he's way below the standard.

Some of us have watched enough football to spot good players even when they dont fit the Bolasie-Full-O-Tricks-So-Must-Be-Awesome mold.

Are you insinuating that I prefer flash players? No idea what you've based that idea on. I'd have Bolasie out of the door this summer, I can't stand tricksy players who offer no value to the game.

Haha, spot on. You build your team around a top player, not to accommodate one who might turn out to be half decent. If we're building it around any of our current players, it should be Gylfi playing number 10.

Not seen enough of him to really properly judge him to be honest. No idea why he hasn’t been given more chances when it was obvious we were staying up especially when Davies has been playing quite a lot who has been utter dire!

I’m afraid I’d try to cut out losses on Klassen. He along with jagielka, Williams, Rooney and Bolasie should be shipped out as they don’t offer anything to the team. I’d like to see this line up next year:

Lookman Siguardsson Walcott

It’s not hard to see were we need strengthening next season. Only Coleman deserves to keep his place, the other players will bring pace and a physicality that will allow us to play 10 yards further up the pitch. Play Siguardsson in his favoured position and speed merchants such as Lookman and Walcott alongside him and we might just be worth watching next season.

Dowell has a lot more pac e than Klaassen and a lot more vision and ability.

I don't rate Klaassen highly, but I certainly think there's a decent player in there. He's just used to play different type of football and it's not a surprise he struggled to play Koeman's and Allardyce's way - rigid, defensive football which values physical attributes.
