Really wanted him to show his class tonight against 2nd rate opposition. Sadly I was disappointed.

I thought he was pretty good.

Not brilliant, but played deeper and in a box-to-box role - a job he did well.

Made some really good tackles. There was one at the start of the second half where he just completely stopped an attacker in his tracks and started a counter

First half couldn't complain about his application and he was passing really well. Second half just disappeared and looked knackered. When our players can find space Klaassen is good but when our players don't attempt to find space he can't do much with the ball. Needs to build fitness and strength up.
He's had like, zero starts or subs. Kid's not had any game time. He'll get better the more he's played, if he's played correctly. And if we ain't trying to shoehorn him, Gylfi and Wayne into the same bloody position.

All being said, we will be bringing in players in January and he'll probably be - for the time being at least - surplus to requirements.

If that is the case, come the end of January, if he is to leave then I'd hope it'd only be a loan, and ideally to a decent Championship side.

Somewhere like Wolves, where they play good footy and pass it about quickly, would suit him I think.

Gives him game time and also the chance to prove he can play in England. The lad has barely completed 90 minutes and the main issue is his lack of physicality in that area of the pitch.

Agreed mate, problem is as someone mentioned before - if he was an academy player we would be saying that was a solid performance......but for a 24m player.....well I think we can all agree we would hope to see more.

Some nice touches, but I think we have a few players who can do nice touches.

The majority are still willing him to do well, I'm just not sure he's got anything in his game to warrant being in the squad let alone the first team and if we were selling him I think we would be lucky to get 12m. The very fact that you mention loaning him to a Championship side speaks volumes imo

Had concerns signing him, they’ve grown since, don’t think he’s up to the standard he needs to be, he’s a piece of a jigsaw in a style of play we won’t be playing.

File under Kroldrup.

There is absolutely no way will he go to a championship side. You can see glipses of a good player but I agree he isn’t any better than our current crop of midfielders. He is a former Ajax captain and dutch international - everton would get good money for him from top teams in Europe. Moving to championship would be a terrible choice for Everton and the player in terms of devaluing his worth.

I thought he far outplayed Schneiderlin tonight, not only in attack, but in defence where he isnt supposed to. Had some great passes, worked hard to keep plays a live, and I think the only point he turned it over it was a poor pass that put him under pressure.

Id much rather him play beside Gueye that Schneiderlin at this point, and those who wrote off his performance today either simply didnt see the match, or already had their minds made up months ago. He played quite well until the whole team lagged for a period in the second half.

I agree Davy has potential just need the coaches to mould him to our style of play. He will come good.

Good tonight. Needs a run of games and he'll be fine. But he won't get that run cause hes too far down pecking list.

He's gash, and playing an okayish first half against a load of wheat farmers is hardly something to write home about.
Exactly. He'll continue to struggle against PL opponents.

I'm staggered at the level of tripe that Dutch league produces. That Ajax system has gotten real flabby and think they can churn out players with technique without the athleticism that the modern top tier European leagues demand comes with it. No wonder their national team are a joke now.

I reckon if he went shoulder to shoulder with the powder puff that was Osman when he was playing, Klassen would have ended up on his arse!

Joking aside mate, we should and hopefully other premiership teams would look at loaning him, your not tell me hes any worse than say cleverley or any midfielder that west ham Swansea or palace have for example.
