Honestly would have a hard time trying to decide who would be good as a new captain. The mentality of the lot of them is really quite shocking.

Can you imagine this side playing a Merseyside Derby at Anfield? It has potential to out do the Martinez catastrophe.

They had one successful counter attack all game and even that wasn't down to , or even exacerbated by, a high line.

Agree it wasn't the best decision but given Keane's injury, he didn't have many other options did he. The obvious suggestion will be Holgate, but Holgate is just as prone to a mistake as the rest at the moment. He was at fault against Man City with that headed clearance and recently gave away one of the worst penalties you're likely to see a defender concede. No thought and just ran over and hacked a player down in the area right in front of the ref, didn't exactly do himself any favours there did he. Other than that, what options did Unsworth have?

Was disappointed with his decision in both games to leave out Vlasic and that is one one the things I am keeping an eye on.

The idea of playing a high line against leicester is insane. The set up half way line. Insane even though leicester didnt take advantage on more occasions.
They were on the back foot and split apart numerous times. Are you defending the positioning of our defense against leicester?

So we play deep without any pace in the attack?

That's the problem. There are no easy answers with this squad.

Before you say Lennon, Mirallas and Lookman. Neither Lennon or Mirallas are particularly quick now and Lookman is a kid who has both shown flashes and also signs he's out of his depth.

He's had 2 away games at 2 difficult grounds with a team that's been struggling for form all season. I'm conviced that 90% of the problem is confidence. That situation (lack of confidence) has been caused by Koeman and will take a little more time to sort out whoever is at the helm.

The 'problem' I'm referring to is the one of being at the wrong end of the table.

The 'problem' of not being anywhere near good enough for top 6 runs deeper. Koeman's partly responsible for that too. Though not entirely

Despite the obvious problems of personnel, this squad is good enough to be higher up the table with better organization and more confidence.

Unsworth will not be getting the job in the long term unless all other avenues are exhausted. The club know 'his level': take that as you will.

I really hope he isn’t given the job full time. He’s got an amazingly effective academy set up on the go which in the long term is worth far more to us than a shooting star style appointment.

Yesterday my uncle said that he thought Unsworth should get the job on a permenant basis.

I asked him why and he said something along the lines of: "He's a lovely kid and a big blue."

Slightly naive, I thought.

Apparently He’s been told he hasn’t got the job . Barring a disaster Sean Dyche will be getting the job .

I’d honestly rather pay allardyce til the summer then search again than pay compo to Burnley and then be tied into Dyche for 3/4 years.
