David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

It's a very easy appointment for the board to go with Unsworth. He wont expect much money for transfers and he'll promote players from the 23s instead. I just don't think any of the other clubs above us would even consider an internal appointment. It doesn't feel right to me. Not at this moment.

I like the idea of an ex player.
No doubt.
I just see us surrounded by no marks now. Jeffers, Ferguson, Ebbrell..
That's all.

I want a clean sweep. All out. Including... No especially, the chairman..
And then we can start again.

Me too.

Unsworth and Ebbrell , with Jeffers in charge of the U23s? All steering the good ship Kenwright for Brexit FC?

Full sweep needed

Well agree to disagree. Unsy won a title last year, with Ebbrell as his assistant, so hardly no mark coaches.

I want the best players and the best coaches. Sentimentality gets you nowhere in the cut throat of the premier league.

It's also a bit of a nothing competition - Chelsea loan all their best youngsters out to European senior leagues

You do realise he's overseen about £25 million worth of investment into the u-23 setup?

I'm sure Everton are sounding out potential managers who they think can take us to the next level. In the meantime we've just got to get behind Unsworth and hope he gets us some results.

To the people who say that Unsworth might be a good appointment in the future but not right now, I ask: When?

What are the optimal conditions to bring him in, or is it a case we just dangle the job enticingly in front of him with no intention of ever giving it to him.

I say now is the best time. It's early in the season, he's got time and immediate respect and, most importantly, an intimate knowledge of the talent in our youth setup. This is exactly when we should be giving him a shot imo

Every time we need a new player or manager the simple question should be who is the best person out there. And then we should go after that person.

Is Unsworth the best manager available? Doubt it.

Sorry dave, but why?
Owe it to ourselves is what I meant.

I think some of us need to be saved from ourselves here. I can sense the impatience that we haven't been linked with the greatest managers in the game and that some are looking at Unsworth with some irritation.

I said above that I dont think many realise we stand at a crossroads here. One more poor choice as manager and we are doomed.

Be careful what (superstar manager)you wish for.
