What's the reason for this? Interested to know. Is it just because he's a nice fella who gets on with everyone? or is it because the players buy into his way of playing?

Unable to converse too much with him as he was with company. Will find out more hopefully IDC. But he was enthusiastic at the prospect which leads me to believe Unsy commands a great deal of respect.

There’s good managers available now Tuchel for starters. And there’s 29 games left and lots to play for. IMO you need a proper manager not some U23 rookie manager ... There’s clearly a lot of sentiment towards Unsworth on here ex player and that but really a first team manager ?? You should be aiming higher NOW not the summer or a years time God knows what damage might’ve been done by then

he deserves his chance, Evertonians are (almost) all massively behind him. The players, staff and Chairman all want him.

Theres a reason for that, not just because hes a 'nice bloke'.

Why would 'damage be done'? He's got a few games to prove himself and if he does that then the job should be his.

If he can get some results in the next few games then why shouldn't it be...

Fantastic to hear him speak about the club NO FEAR, WIN WIN WIN!!!!

Imagine the confidence that gives players...

No matter what the result tonight, he DESERVES this chance for a few games.

Im behind him cos hes a decent fella whos saying all the right things and hes a blue.

Based on his managerial experience, not so much, as he said yesterday, "Nobody knows if hes a good manager", we will find out in the next few games.

finally got your wish here zatman.

its going to be interesting to see if he gets a tune out of these lot.

if we go and win tonight with an unexpected display of energy, movement and desire, then we will all know why we have failed so badly so far this season.

I hope everyone will agree with me when I say, I'll be watching the performance of each player tonight.

Those who sulk, heads down shouldn't wear the shirt. If David Unsworth cant inspire you to put in 100% effort then you don't deserve to play for us.

I very much hope we go at them full tilt and are at our snarling best.

He's saying all of the right things - fight, desire, fearlessness, positivity, confidence and 'winning' are most of the buzzwords. He already gets a tick for that.

Like Shakespeare at Leicester you mean ?

Got a feeling you’s will lose your next 2 games and the Unsworth wankathon will be over I hope I’m wrong but every chance I won’t be

I think he might get a tune out of the players for a few weeks, but once the honeymoon period is over then who knows what happens??

We go on a run of bad games and then Tuchel and Carlo have new jobs and all we have left to go for is Moyes or Big Sam.

We've been losing anyway, I just want to see a team emerge from this shambles, one that puts some effort in would be an improvement, irrespective of the score.

It's unrealistic to expect anyone to come in at this juncture and win the next two.
