David Unsworth appreciation thread

He was an absolute beast of a centre back first time round - like Jaap Stam or Vidic before I knew what a Staam or Vidic was. I got a ripped blue nose he had on at the Cup Final which he through in to the crowd

Might be bad at geography, but was a solid player, who would have had a more distinguished career had he been played at ch more. I remember reading on his return that people would be surprised at what a forward thinking coach he was, appears to be true, building a fine reputation
 
Even during those dark dark days of Walter Smith's reign my abiding memory is we never as a support turned on the players, the likes of Unsy, Stubbs, Weir, even Pembridge Watson Campbell Carsley etc , whilst as a team never good enough for what we wanted , they gave their all and I think we appreciated that, lacked quality but never commitment to the cause, that and our support kept us up in those desperate days.
 
When I get asked to name my favorite players, Rhino is always up there. Scored some belting goals from open play and whenever we got a pen, it was a given to be a goal if it was him stepping up, much in the same way when Bainesy steps up now when given the chance
