Wouldnt call him a target man mate, Jimmy V is ace mate - wait for it!

Really stepped up his game last season when the others were out. That game away at anfield, he was on on fire from start to finish. Won the freekick aswell that led to Cahill's goal. Top lad but needs to make his mind that he wants to be a top player aswell

Movement good; composure on the ball iffy to say the least. Injuries aside, he needs to start living up to the hype failry soon when he does get an extended run.

I'll be 80 by time Jimmy V turns ace:lol:

Nugent's just played more and looks comfy in the prem, he's only 24 too. Like I say, I can see him being around the prem a lot in years to come - maybe Beattie-esque that Kevin Davis but they have similar traits; big, strong, hold up the ball, can score.

Doesn't matter a toss what we think....................would Moyes risk it, maybe as it now looks like Jo is heading back down the East Lancs but I have my doubts

You have to look at talent and impact lads, ill always maintain one of the big reasons we qualified for the Uefa the first time under Moyes was Jimmy V - his performences up untill the game against he got injured at Bolton (and pumped blood)) were awsome defenders couldnt handle him. He always impacts, again at the back end of last season he made an impact.

Hes missed out on playing time, but still has a great chance if he stays fit. Ossie was similar he was 23 before he began to shine and make the breakthrough because of injuries. He and agbonlohor made the break through at the same time and Vaghan looked a far better player - look whats happend since.

I have compleate faith in the lad - hope he starts today.

I dont hold my breath over him and the club shouldnt rely on him. Its all good saying "he's gonna be this good, that good" - he hasnt played a full 90mins in the premier league.

By all means, keep hold of him, tracking his progression. But IMO there are players out there able to do more for the club, will play full games, and stay fit.

You could say the same thing about Saha really though couldnt you!

I'd definately take him on a loan + option to buy, or if the 1m fee mentioned is true, on a permanent contract. So it's option one for me, although I do think there should've been added a third option. Decent squad player at least, with a point to prove at his boyhood club.

Nugent has never shown anything in his game that suggests he would be a worthwhile signing, for me anyway.

He would have been perfect for us 6-7 years ago, but we have moved on since then.

Nailed on mate, in some ways im glad hes gone to the ACON - he will get games under his belt, best performence of the season against Burnley hes a class act.

*Watch out Arry's about!

That's what Im hoping for too. He gets over 200 minutes of play time in the ACN or so without any hiccups, he'll be coming back on fire.

like ive said on another thread , nugent should be a good price , he is the right age and will have sell on value.

hes a blue , so knows whats required of him , and that fact may mean he will run through walls for the team.

another thing is that i beleive he is the sort of striker we lack ,a traditional english goal poacher.

i think him and vaughan would potentially be a right handful of a striker partnership and decent back up to saha and yak.

I am a mad blue who would love to play for Everton. The club should sign me, I'd play anywhere on the pitch and give 100%.

The fact I'm [Poor language removed] is apparently irrelevant these days.

In other words, No he's tosh.

Why is he tosh? Cos he went to Pompey, never played as he was behind Crouch and Defoe, and when he did he got 3 goals (1 against the [Poor language removed]) and was played on the wing? Goes to Burnley and as only played 3 full games, scored 4?

£2mill for him would be a good price. But every penny counts with us so the money would go towards someone else.

He's not great...but he's not [Poor language removed] either and will be around a long time IMO. By the time he's 28 he'll bloom to be a consistant striker IMO.
