I wouldnt be against it to be honest, i rate Moyes highly.

Did a wonderful job with us, he could really pick a player, i always wondered what he could do with money.

He is good mates with Mark Lawrenson who has said he would jump at the chance, he also said Everton would be unlikely to go down that direction.

Think if the the current situation drags on to the next international break, then we will need to look at a more pragmatic type of coach like Moyes or Allardyce to ensure Premiership survival.

Not really no. He couldn't get the signings he wanted.

To be fair to Moyes, the rebuilding job that was required at United following Ferguson’s last season can be viewed as massive in hindsight. He gets slaughtered because they’d won the league the previous year and he was of course out of his depth. He also made the massive mistake of bringing in his own coaching staff making the transition from the Fergie era even harder. Following Fergie though? Perhaps the greatest manager of all time? That would take some doing and I don’t think it says much that Moyes couldn’t do it. Not many could.

For me as well, that squad he was left with was very similar to the squad Mourinho left at Inter; vastly experienced, full of winners but also ageing and past their best and in need of an overhaul. Those two clubs suffered the exact same fate after winning big and still haven’t properly turned it around.

Moyes would do fine here. He’s had better squads but he’s done more with a lot worse. But do we want to do just “fine”? When he left, it felt like he’d done all he could with us and we’d done all we could with him. We were both supposed to do so much better. It feels like a relationship where a break is agreed but both parties realise they can’t do any better so end up back together for convenience and familiarity. Coexisting together but never quite having the same feelings they once had. Man that’s depressing.

Moyes spent 10 months at Man United, not enough time to be judged.
He followed the best manager United ever had, poison chalice.
Ferguson won the league with one of the worst teams ever to win the title.
At Everton he bought a fine team with some excellent players without ever being backed by our then hopeless board. Trouble is he had to sell them to buy more.
Everyone knows he had his limitations, knife to a gunfight etcetera, plus he appears to be on a downward spiral United, Sunderland and Sociedad. That's the reason I would not have him back as a manager, but as a DOF, with his contacts and scouting team I think he could bring some great players to Everton, especially with money behind him and fans he know Moyes can build a team, give the manager the right building blocks to build a very good one at that. Koeman has to go as has Steve Walsh they have failed.
I would give Unsworth a go with Moyes as DOF until the end of the season, Unsworth has done all the right things as U23 coach is a blue through and through and Moyes knows the club throughout and more importantly has an eye for a player.
Baines, Piennar, Lescott, Jagielka, Arteta, Cahill, Mirallas, Yakubu, Coleman and Fellaini all with very little money, no one can deny that. Heads for the bunker.

Don't know what to think about this one, what he did here was nothing short of a miracle but his last few jobs have been abit of a disaster.
