2025/26 David Moyes

….he certainly has to be held accountable for transfers. Supporting somebody doesn’t mean you blindly think everything he does is wonderful, just as not supporting shouldn’t mean everything he does is bad.

I think the summer window was a mixed bag and the two most costly players have disappointed (Dibling and Barry) but there was significant churn and we needed numbers with so many out of contract. Not all transfers work but I do think we’ve significantly improved under Moyes and I’m certain he’ll be overseeing this window.

Should be interesting.
Not sure it will be interesting. "So, we can't offer you European football and you'll be playing for a manager who never beats a big team and plays dour football alongside a bunch of journeyman players who've signed from relegated teams. Just sign at the bottom".

The sense of entitlement on this site is off the scale.
We have been fighting relegation for 4 seasons, with zero investment or have people been in a coma?
The squad is thin by PL league standards and we will get a solid mid table finish with an outside chance of Europe.
That is progress.
We need another 4 or 5 quality signings to get back to get to where we belong.
And I would rather trust Moyes with the rebuild than a Potter or Rosinior.
its not thin, moyes chooses to only use the same players every week

Bit of a stretch from Ornstein calling them superior when they only have 3 more points. Neither team is great and there is very little difference between them otherwise the gap would be bigger than 3 points. Don't know how anyone can listen to Sky Sports tbh.
They've got a better manager.

Really?? He’s barely been hanging on in some of the ones I’ve watched.
Would he improve playing there regularly? Yup, almost certainly.
Is he a better option than Tarks at the moment? No.
Tarks very good when he's in his own box just heading and blocking balls in, probably better than JOB at that aspect but as soon as him and Keane have got to push up and defend space they can't. From my memory JOB has played CB against Arsenal away, and then Villa, Bournemouth, and Forest all away and apart from arsenal we got massive clean sheet wins in all those games where he was a monster. But if JBs out put him next to Tark and certainly not the two slugs together is more my point.

We need to bin off Moyes and really show some ambition.
What we really need is a manager with a winning mentality and a record of winning the big trophies to back it up. A manager with a top CV.
Someone who's won the Champions League, the UEFA CUP a couple of times, the UEFA Super CUP,FIFA Club World Cup,the FA Cup. A minimum of one one of the major European League titles and a couple of cups at the very least. Then surely we'll get to the heights of English football 🤔

He has to win 3 games in a row to keep his job won't be happening

If only mate.

What will probably happen is we get another draw + win and then the season ends without any immediate decision on his future, then a week or so later Moyes is handed an extension of a year on top of his year currently left.

There's no ambition at this club. I'm pretty sure these owners wont intervene other than to keep the plate spinning.

Stuck with Moyes.

The irony we chanted at United "Stuck with Moyes Stuck with Moyes Man United" and it is us who is in fact stuck with negative Dave

You keep overlooking my point about a realistic target. The same as players, managers are drawn to the chance of European football. We don't offer that so the fantasy football names being bandied about just aren't going to come.
Not overlooking it, I just disagree with it. I don't believe that a highly promising manager would rather manage a French Ligue 1 team in the Europa League on half the wage over a mid-table premier league club with aspirations of qualifying for Europe. For example, Glasner, a manager you simultaneously (and paradoxically) claim isn't an upgrade on Moyes and wouldn't touch us with a barge pole, won the Europa League prior to taking the Crystal Palace job. Why would he do that, according to you he should have been lured by the irresistible lure of European football over taking over a bottom half premier league team, and yet he took the job? The PL is a draw for both the money and the standard of the league. Settling for mediocrity results in mediocrity, it's not rocket science.
