@Ferguson1878 you can laugh but it’s true - i can bet my life more match goers want moyes to stay than online

so ye we’ve all got zero ambition aye
I suspect that you are right on both counts.

1. I don't think that the majority of match going fans want Moyes replaced, regardless of the views expressed on here.

2. I agree that TFG lack ambition beyond wanting to stay in the division ( I appreciate that your comment was probably tongue in cheek but I think it's accurate anyway)

Can't see him ever being sacked.
When he leaves it will be spun as his own decision.
Think he's safe regardless this summer.

Maybe. But the issue will be his last year in contract and his agent will be pushing for an extension this summer.

The wise move here is to pay him up for the last 12 months and get one of the talented managers now available.

I'd give him next season, no more.
He's a safe manager whilst all the shuffling is going on in the background.
When TFG have everything sorted I don't expect to see Moyes anywhere near the club.
Think it's pointless replacing him at the moment. We could waste a good replacement by appointing them too early.

Absolutely stupid if they give him another contract now, even with twelve months left I don't see much risk of him getting a better offer elsewhere.

Maybe financially, but not a higher level on a sporting basis, and if he goes for the money, whose arsed? he massively tarnishes his reputation at the club which he has a cosy relationship with

Make him earn the contract. Which for me is if we come up short this season, he HAS to get Europe next season no excuses.

Also the domestic cup performances need to improve at this club significantly.

We should be aiming to get to the latter stages of one or the other EVERY season.

BTW I'm not Moyes out I just think we need to start raising our standards now.

It might not be the right thing for Everton to do at the moment, but I want Ancelotti back.

It's such a big statement of intent and he is still arguably one of the best managers in the world.

With the new stadium and a bit of cash, he could attract us players even without Europe.

And let's all be honest, wasn't it great saying our manager was Carlo Ancelotti?
I just had a look and he's only 66, I thought he was way older.
Him or the mad Diego Simeone.
That's the dreamer in me

Some mad, mad shouts in here.

Call his agents bluff. If he thinks he can get a better offer in the summer see ya later lad.

If he performs well next year he gets a new contract. That's where the convo should start and stop.

You'd like to think a proper ownership have contingency plans and a potential shortlist of replacements ready. Also if we're doing things properly the manager/head coach should be independent of any player recruitment.

Recruit to a profile and way of playing not the manager.

You'd have no problems with recruiting a replacement, we're a pretty attractive proposition I think for a young manager on the way up who wants to build their profile.

Asked, in the build-up to that game, for his views on the pair given their lack of recent minutes, Moyes said: “Merlin, we like, Tyler, we like. Tyler, we're giving more time to because of his age. Merlin could have easily been involved in some more games and played a little bit more time. It'll do him no harm to have sat back for the best part of the season and looked at it. No, we like them, they're both good boys.”

Make this make sense

I’m sure Rohl is thrilled that we’ve wasted a year of his career for no reason other than the manager thinks some young players need a period sat on the bench.
