2025/26 David Moyes

LMAO @ the "I'm done with football" shouts.

Players are expected to dust off and go again in 6-10 days by fans but you're over there in your Pampers, eating a microwave meal while suckling on your Fanta and you're ready to hang yourself...hilarious.

I really like your post. I think it’s very fair and a reasonable measuring stick. But it’s a mixed bag of results so far. Sitting at 10th and improved. But also not developing players. Not taking risks or being creative. It’s why the fan base feels sort of meh. It’s because we know we’re better than our record and aren’t as limited as we show given the manager and his own traits. That’s why I’m in support of keeping him and being fair by giving a summer window to him free and clear of PSR.
Alcaraz, Iroegbunam, Barry, Dibling, Aznou, Armstrong, George, Patterson.

Thats 8 players off the top of my head who weve seen either:

A: Be thrown in then dropped mysteriously

B: Thrown in with minimal minutes, not giving them any hope of getting up to speed

C: Look dreadful

We should be talking now, with 5 games to go about how were looking forward to seeing some of them in the 11 or pushing the 11 next season.

The reality is though, no one actually believes Moyes knows what to do with them to turn them into effective premier league players for Everton.

If you get Europe means justly the ends
Not playing kids as get game time in Europe

If we come 12th and no Europe Moyes has squadded a year of development for Aznou, Dibling, Rohl

Yet played McNeil and gana (though good did he have to play every minute)

Be amazed if we make europe now
Yes for me i thought 8th simplistically because its 5places higher than 13th last season.

No matter what, thats progress. I also thought 8th gives us europe.

Now i think he must get at least europe (8th or perhaps 7th) which is the same or 1 place higher simply because of the player mismanagement.

Get europe and those young players should have chances.

If not, id be doing anything for Iraola.

None of whom have experience of playing up front in the Premier League, let alone a Merseyside Derby. I wonder how that would have gone down on the forum.
Seriously??? Arsenal play a 16 year old, liverpool start a 17 year old and play him in CL, but mighty Everton know best. If they have no experience playing different styles and positions in the PL, well that is probably because the manager has ZERO imagination when it comes to going forward. Ironically, same fossil has no problem playing 6-6 rbs, right footed players at LB and all other kinds of stuff when he wants to prove a point...give me a break. He is SCARED to think outside of the box and even more so in big games...he has a 20 year record of that.

They're playing 16 and 17 year olds because they're quality players. There was no hesitation throwing Rooney in during 02/03. Why? Because he was an amazing talent.

The player Moyes signed?

Oh...
Yes Zat

The player Moyes signed.

You’d think that someone who trys to portray themselves as some sort of football expert on here would have sussed out by now that every transfer in football doesn’t work out.

It’s just noise isn’t it. The constant need to criticise and be a know all. It’s so fkn boring!

He's got another year on his contract.

I don't think he'll leave this year regardless of Europe or who's available.

My guess is next season will be pretty much the same as this - solid, joyless mid table with nothing to get excited about in the cups.

No way we should be thinking about extensions until this time next season.

He's done well since coming back but there are managers that would've won that game today.

Thought RS were really poor.

Moyes came in and improved us immediately. That improvement has continued this season which is why he should (and probably will) stay for at least another season. The improvement needs to continue though season on season, any sign of stagnation or regression would be the red flag for the Friedkins.

The only way I’d make a change is if a world class manager like Carlo became available and wanted to come here and I don’t see that this summer.
If that improvement ends up us finishing 12th where we finished pretty much last season after blowing 100 plus million

Is that actually an improvement!

Never mind the white flag in the cups!!

But yeah give him a deal for life

Problem is we're 12th in the league for wage budget which helps to explain why we are where we are. I would have no qualms getting rid of Moyes if this was a top 6 team under performing.
What's the source for this?

Also why are Brentford and Bournemouth not relegated? Should they be happy to be relegated if we're going for wages as a metric for performance? Why are Tottenham where they are?

I was waiting for that...we werent actually talking about playing kids though...we are talking about a manager having the skill and ability to envision playing a squad in more than one way, working on different things and scenarios in training and not being so pathetically predictable, safe and honestly boring.
