2025/26 David Moyes

I can totally understand why Moyes keeps his intentions close to his chest regarding who he would like to sign in the coming transfer market, but why does he refuse to let us know about how badly players are injured so denying us of a time scale when we can expect them to return, I don't think any other manager does this as far as I can remember.
Why give the opposition any information?

1 win in 4 games - see what you can do with stats?

….42.5% win rate managing 1,200 games, mainly at this level. Your dream appointment, Iraola 38.7% win rate in just 320 games, mainly in Spanish 2nd division, his best rate came when managing in Cyprus when he got sacked for not winning a game for 2 months.

Mark Twain did say something along the lines of ‘lies, damned lies and statistics’.

Happy New Year to you and yours, Dave.

He’s done a really good job over the last 12 months. There’s lots of stats and headlines that we’ve all already seen to prove the point. Pointswise, this is the best season we’ve had after 19 games (and on track to finish with) since Ancelotti.

Now is the time to really kick on. We have 2x favourable looking home games coming up, hopefully with a few bodies coming back from injury (our squad is absolutely depleted, despite what certain people say) and hopefully a new starting left back and right back coming in which would make a huge difference.

Ouch. That’s a pasting. It’s NYE for Christs sake. Have some mercy.

Depends what club's you've had to manage.

Devil is always in the detail.

;)

Technically, it's not an entire calendar year, as Dyche was still boss for bournemouth away on January 4th. Baines and Coleman covered the fa cup win vs Peterborough, then Moyes stepped in with less than 48 hours to go in the league vs villa on January 15th. This little fact underlines how quick some moved to get Alcaraz in double lively.
