The Moyes thread has become a bit of a catchall for Everton's season progress.

We could do with a new thread that just talks about that instead of all the debate going through Moyes who is obviously involved in that progress or lack of as the case may be, but is just one component in discussing it.

Does anyone mind if I create that new season thread - unless there's one suitable already? The relegation thread doesn't fit either, btw.

I wish we could chain him to just one thread , the scenario would be like in the book/movies IT where a supernatural entity that terrorizes the community is confined to one particular town. Try to contain his corrosive influence

If it would stop you blaming moyes for anything not prime Barca while giving him no credit at all, then yea absolutely, sounds good

What's annoyed me most about this season is that we have been thumped by rubbish sides. Both Newcastle and Spurs have been terrible.

We’ve also beat sides that are doing well like Palace, United and Brighton.

We're a midtable team dependent on moments in matches. We've got too much to go down but not enough to railroad all the other teams. After the last few years I can live with that.

We all know the areas of the team that need addressing and I'm sure Moyes does too. He doesn't have the time to hang around so needs to move things along sharpish.

Indeed, but my point is more about being thumped. We didn't thump Palace, United or Brighton. I don't mind losing if we look good in the game but we were atrocious against Newcastle for example.

This for me is the key bit. He can’t rest on his laurels this time. The Friedkins won’t let him, and he’ll know it’s unlikely he has another 11 year stint ahead of him here. Whatever legacy he wants to leave at the club he needs to do it quickly, so he should be pushing Kinnear for every pound he can in January, pushing to get us into Europe, and then demanding better players in the summer to have a tilt at a trophy next season.
