2025/26 David Moyes

Absolute nailed on that Dyche gets a result of sorts on the weekend. Just how it works. Timothy Nam being suspended won’t help that midfield. Be Jake Obi at right back and Jimmy Peninsula back in the middle I guess.
I called for for tim to get a yellow, we also need Garner to get a yellow.

We need a clean slate before afcon.
We cant have Tim and Garner heading into that on 4 yellows.
Tim is now clean, Garner next.

It’s all about where you finish, and Moyes had us 4th. Martinez 5th. Points total in any given year isn’t relevant in any other season but the one you’re in at the time.

Fact, as a certain Mr Benitez once said.

Currently three points off 4th by the way…

It is most definitely where you finish that is the important thing. Moyes 4th trumps Martinez 5th, every time.

There are no extra points for style. Of course, we would all like to be able to say Everton are blowing every team away while being solid at the back. Sometimes you have to go into games sacrificing one of those, if not both.

If you win every game 1-0 with only own goals, you win the league. Nobody in 5/10/15+ years will give a toss about how it was done.

We talk about Moyes not quite cutting it as a top manager. But think a club can have a very good manager but a poor squad or a good squad with a poor manager, Either way results may not work out.
If a top manager was at Everton, for over a decade, I reckon they would win something. Moyes hasn't, thus far. He's probably best of the rest (managers), much like we were, as a team, for some of his first tenure.

This season is kind of what I expected. A few good performances, a few bad ones but overall we look ok.

Recruitment was hit and miss in the summer. It was never gonna be a great season and throw in a new stadium too its not as bad as some are making out.

How quickly we forget how bad it was under Dyche.

I actually look forward to us playing again now.

The league is absolutely bizarre this season. Everyone is beating each other literally every week. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if we went and got a result against Bournemouth, it also wouldn’t surprise me if we then went on to lose heavily to Forest.
Half way there mate! 😉

The pattern you're calling out has been developing over a while, too.

A few factors:

- decline of utd, spurs and the Chelsea takeover (opened up spaces at the top)
- good investment/ownership at Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton, palace , everton recovery?! Etc🤞
- combined with the load on ' top teams '( club world cup )

We've got a flatter 4th to 14th than ever...

I like it in as much as more clubs are punching for Europe. Big bi product of American and other non Uk investment in the middle tier of our league. Everyone wants a slice of Europe.

My only problem with it is what happens when 14 outof20 approve a European superleague...

Sad, but true.

I don’t recall Arsenal fans complaining about their ‘Boring, boring Arsenal’ victories. They were too busy enjoying winning stuff.

I dispute that. League position is not necessarily a reflection of how good the season has been.

No other season would you have got a CL spot with 65 points. It was an aberration.

Points total is much more of a measure of how well the team has done.

I said all season that Moyes should keep his job if we get top half and I'll stick to that. But this league is appalling now. That's why a team like Forest were doing so well and why an outfit like Sunderland are riding high.
Are u favouring top 6 setup with the abyss apart from the rest? Nah.. this league is better
