2025/26 David Moyes

Moyes did slip up with his words, though i still get a feeling they were aimed behind the scenes..

It was the Players that bottled the game. Well, about 3 or 4 of them did.
When you have that many off players, you cant expect the other 7 to carry them..

Bad bad day at the office, we will see in the players attitudes on tuesday, how those words were taken in the squad..

( Was that even really Moyes in that interview, or has Davek finally got to grips with AI

just really poor from him today that quote is ways to say it better. Also the bench today we had nothing to change the game, is nothing different.
That's not entirely true though. We've got a £40m wonderkid on the bench we spent all summer chasing, a left fullback who apparently is quite attack minded (or so is the narrative), and a bit of a livewire No10 in Alcaraz. Might not be the Arsenal or City bench, but there are a few options there that could have been utilised.

agree just not always needed in some games like today, alcaraz was not a sub i would have prefered coming on as felt we needed another mid like gana or whoever. To come on and fight for the ball help us get to grips of the midfield. Having a direct winger with pace ect. But 100% agree with you can still make subs with alcaraz and dibbling to try something

I'm happy to not be in relegation battle (yet) and I will grudgingly settle for a mid table finish.
Moyes is not good enough for us though.
I don't dislike the man, but he is not the "Everton" man he thinks he is.
He epitomises the past few decades of mediocrity that we have all suffered.
I want a fresh start that truly moves away from the Moyes/Kenwright era.

I could accept him saying we had a bad night. I could accept him saying our performance was poor. I can't accept him saying we can't expect to compete against a team that barely ever wins an away game. I thought he was moving forward having praised the players on Monday rather than trying to take the credit himself, his usual MO, but this is back to shopping at Aldi, knife to a gunfight bs, which is why I didn't want him back.

Yea I get it. Nobody wants to hear it, including me. I just wonder what he could've said that would satisfy supporters and the board while at the same time keeping his players heads up. I think most answers he could give would annoy somebody
Any number of things. Just say it was a tough night and we were outplayed on the day, you don’t have to make out like losing to a side that hasn’t won an away game all season, was below us in the table, and haven’t been us in the last 4 games, was a foregone conclusion. Its not difficult really.
