2025/26 David Moyes

The fact we followed up such a good result with such a horrendous performance shows that we still have a long way to go and that there are still big questions over whether we can actually move forward under Moyes.

Good teams can get beat but good teams dont get beat like that when they should be on a high. Everything about the performance suggested a lack of intensity and even a lack of preparation.
Intensity always comes from the management team and how they want the team to play. Problem we have is having 2 slow centre backs so we can never press high as we'll get caught out having to play a high defensive line

I understand managing expectations - but it feels like we’re weeing in the wind a bit - 1 step forward one back.

I just feel like the standards have to be higher and that interview has arguably annoyed me more than the game has. He was given 100m+ and is in a billion pound stadium. If he wants to do that nonsense he can ‘Koff to Burnley if he thinks that level is acceptable
Tonight’s comments and the one’s just after the league cup really, really annoyed me. They didn’t need to be said, he doesn’t need to give fuel to fans fire or juicy quotes for the media - just be the grey man in your interviews, how hard can it be after all these years!

Almost at self sabotage levels of stupidity.

Hang on, you're the one that was telling us all both before and after the Man Utd match that Moyes was the guy to get the results against better teams. You can't have it both ways, either he's the guy to have us punching above our weight or he's a guy that's powerless in the face of teams with better squads and more experience. Which is it?
He’ll start listing his swimmy badges and cycling proficiency test trophies again soon

Oh I totally agree, you could see it years ago and I got fed up with it, if it wasn’t local radio and press being on board with it , it was fellow blues. I eventually stopped going to Goodison and just went to aways.

It even got to a point, one match in particular, where I felt I had totally misjudged what I thought Everton was and never went back to Goodison afterwards.

The time we went from averaging 36k, which was most of my life, to regularly selling out games was a big turning point. A lot of people jumped on the bandwagon of football popularity who I think were quite casual Everton supporters that don't really understand what the club once was. Worse than all that it's probably the opinion of any fan from other clubs under 40 about Everton that hurts the most.

He must think he's untouchable, well, we'll see.

He knows what he's doing. He's managing expectations. How dare people expect him to give Eddie Howe a game on the back of beating United.

That’s poor from Moyes.

What about Newcastle’s losses to Brentford and West Ham?????

Pathetic statement.

I think he needs to look at the tactics like why Pickford can’t command the 6 yard box. We leak goals from corners when dropped in that area.
Also teach the players how to control the ball.
Stay with runners.
Recruitment has been average to say the least

We just beat Manure away with 10 men for most of the game but we are not at Newcastle’s level playing at home. Koff Moyes.

I would have more respect for you if you just said the truth we were terrible tonight because that is why we got thrashed. 3 of their goals were completely avoidable but they could have beaten us blindfolded we were that poor.
Yup. The truth tonight was his abject failure to rouse players who were heroic five days ago. So, he's decided to deflect from that and position Newcastle United - who were three points below us in the league - as Real Madrid.

Plenty will buy it. The legacy of 30 years of Kenwright.
