2025/26 David Moyes

Very good today, cannot argue with that level of performance, it’s very difficult to muller a premier league team for an entire 90 minutes but that was about as close as you can get.
Fulham look like a team that desperately need freshening up, as you say a good front foot controlling performance from us. I want top 10 from Moyesy this year and then hopefully the younger signings start to beome a factor.

Yes mate.

You say “etc etc” like there’s more? We have to play all of Man Utd, Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal and Bournemouth in the next 6 games, with Forest’s £400m squad being the other game.

I don't think we can really include Forest as a tough game mate, there are 18 other better teams than them currently!

Newcastle are below us and average, Man U aren't they good either. I think the likes of City, Arsenal, Villa, Brighton, Palace and even potentially Sunderland (away) are tougher than most of the teams you've mentioned.

With the exception of Arsenal, all of those games are winnable, and Is be disappointed if we didn't win against Forest. I don't really care how many gazillions they've spent, football is played on grass, and they've not been very good.

Forest was the additional one I put in at the end, all of the other teams will be heavy favourites against us. And Forest will be a tough game because they have a good squad with good players. United considering they’re not very good, are the in form team in the league and beat the champions away fairly recently. Chelsea away is tougher than Arsenal at home, a ground we never ever win at. Bournemouth are our bogey team and are another one of the form teams in the league.

I don’t think anyone else in the league will have a tougher run of fixtures than that over the next 6 games.

Just for a bit of realism. 5/6 more points has us in 2nd place.

It’s funny that you think that we should be in 2nd place considering the majority of starting players are still the players from last season that you felt were bottom half players and were hoping to avoid relegation.

And that without having an actual striker that can score, or an actual right back and whilst playing our 4th choice CB.
We play a vastly different way to last year. The purchases that were made allows that, and it also allows others who were here to play in a different way - including the GK. Grealish and KDH are starters and they've revolutionised the way we operate and we have options off the bench we never had before. Things have changed fundamentally in terms of ability to win matches. Moyes' conservatism has stopped fully using those options. And the missing piece is the potent striker that Moyes never brought in.

Well done to Moyes for bringing in KDH and Grealish then I suppose, who have revolutionised the way we play.

That doesn't look that tough a run to me mate. In our next 7 or whatever don't we have 4 teams below us in the league?

I'm not sure United, Forest, Newcastle or Bournemouth should be heavy favourites against us. I'd argue in a couple of them games we would be marginal favourites.

Its a bit of a strange league, like for me Arsenal, City and Liverpool are the best. At the other end you have Wolves and in between that is there that much to choose? Like are United any harder than say Tottenham? Or Bournemouth any worse than Villa?

We should be picking points up though, it's what annoyed me a.bit about Dyche and to a degree the guys before, we just wrote games off.

Well, he's always spotted a good player or two. But it's knowing what to do with them to make best use of them...and maybe in the case of Barry knowing how to give him confidence. Even last night Moyes stated that "I actually think Barry did well today". I mean - WTF is the implication of that statement? That he's rubbish but surprisingly did ok against Fulham? The feller has a long standing suspicion of any player under the age of 25. I'm convinced under another manager Barry is well off the mark by now.

We’re still doing alright. Maybe a point or 3 fewer than I’d have liked at this stage when looking at our fixtures before the season kicked off, but if you said to us we’d be 3 points off 5th over a quarter of the way through the season we’d all have taken it.

Wtf has happened to you?

No excuses last season.

Every excuse under the sun this season.

Yep, everyone getting giddy about beating a poor Fulham side at home, but real improvement would be getting wins at grounds like Old Trafford, or turning home draws against the likes of Villa into wins.
Well, a draw at Old Trafford really should not be beyond us. This is a poor United side by any measure. It's the attitude of the manger - and some of the fanbase - that makes it harder for us than it should be.

I don't expect miracles. Thanks to the win yesterday, Moyes is par for the course this season (League Cup debacle aside). But a result at United should be well within his compass. I see no obkective reason at all to write this off. And we shouldn't simply accept defeat there as some inevitable consequence of reality.
