2025/26 David Moyes

I don't think he'll last the season and I doubt he'll understand why.
I'm not so sure Andy.

Whilst I certainly agree that we have regressed since last season and clearly now Moyes isn't the future I think that unless we see the team in danger of relegation TFG will let him carry on and replace him at the end of the season.

The good - we were outstanding for half an hour and should’ve had the game wrapped up if anyone but Ily could finish

The bad - that miss was awful and Moyes will likely lose his job because of our ‘strikers’ eventually

The ugly - heads went completely after the Barry miss and we were awful. The substitutions were a joke as well! If you’re gonna bring Barry off you do it at half time don’t run him out for less than ten minutes when the balls gone nowhere near him take him off in front of everyone so they can all talk about his miss again and show how disappointed he is and how is bringing on McNeil on a wing he’s never played well on better than bringing on our £40+m future star in his actual position!?
Players needed an arm round them at half time, a reminder how good they were for half hour and told to get back out and show the travelling fans that level again… instead we came out terrified and/or sulky

When Dyche "quit" I was saying any manager would get more out of the players he had ,which proved correct ,Moyes is making me say the same .With Illi ,Jack ,Keirnan ,Jimmy , Tim ( yes he is as good as the others ) ,Gana and Keano the way he is playing and let's be fair Beto and Thierno there should be a tune in there .Beto had a run of games where he scored Thierno can score he has shown that but the team is hapless having him doing his thing .
At least Jack didn't run to the corner flag every time he got the ball last night ,wait for three players then lose it .

I understand the issues with Beto and Barry but hauling each one off for the other after 60-70 minutes in every game simply isn't working. Of course Barry should score but he can't be relaxed in his thought process knowing if he misses he will be hauled off again. He has scored a fair few goals in two other leagues.

I don't think Moyes has helped his form by the way he has integrated him. Same as with Alcaraz and Dibling.
Look I think Moyes is now out of his depth with this group of players but I find it difficult to criticize his decision to sub Barry.

After that horrific miss and idiotic yellow the kid's head was scrambled and another stupid challenge and we'd be down to 10.

Overall do I think that Moyes knows how to handle young players ? No.

They seemed a bit trigger-happy at Roma but who knows, you might be right.

Spot on... I'm still convinced if at 0-2 we've won that game and things look a bit rosier. Heads went off everyone after that miss players and the manager.

Think this season is confirming this far that Moyes did a better job than Dyche at doing the same thing i.e a man management moral boost with slight tactical tweaks to get a purple patch out of the side but in a full season he's not tactically up to it anymore.

He needs to pick up some wins quickly or he's gone which worries me slightly as I'm unsure which managers would be available at the end of November/early December.

Moyes will lose his job , because he can’t find solutions, which he’s paid handsomely to do.

But Barry was doing ok, Beto offered nothing in the 40mins he was on, which we all knew was going to happen
Has Barry been sent off in his career ???
There seems to be some notion that he was going to loose his head and get another yellow.

Perhaps we just have to admit that it doesn’t matter who the manager is the players are rubbish and until that changes Moyes’s hands are tied. He needs time to build a team and squad and that won’t be done in a couple of transfer windows, it’ll probably take seasons.
We heard the same with Lampard and dyche, Moyes came in last season and got a tune out of them, maybe it was a different voice. Maybe the players are now bored of his voice and negativity
He’s got a bunch of young players he’s hardly using. How do you build a team , using older players and playing players out of position. If he’d played Patterson and Aznou, Dibling, Alcaraz, Rhol, Barry Etc. in 50% of the games, and we were 14th I think fans would be more understanding.

But I for the life of me can’t understand what he’s trying to do. The McNeil sub was unbelievable. That says to me he’s getting desperate and out of his depth in the modern game
