He's done ok so far, but, his aversion to resting certain players is a little frustrating. I'd love to see him try playing Dewsbury Hall instead of Gueye, as Garners partner and using Alcaraz or Rohl as number 10. I just think trying a good passer of the ball like Dewsbury Hall a little further back and somebody like Alcaraz as an aggressive option as number 10 might just work, at least in our home games.

You mean he showed respect to a legendary manager who was interviewing for one of the best and highest profile jobs in world football? People are so petty. Get on with your lives. We've made a decent start to the season, don't look like being relegation threatened for the first time in a while, are playing good football for the most part and finally have some genuine ballers in the team. These are the good times. Just enjoy them.

12th in the table with 3 wins , 9 league goals and knocked out a cup by a team bottom of the table and these are the good times ?

I’ve quite enjoyed the start to the season , well parts of it particularly the new stadium, most of the results there and a couple of talented footballers but I’d struggle to consider this the good times .

Maybe clubs like Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford are currently out performing us because they have enthusiastic fan bases who are just enjoying the ride and don't have a core of bitter entitled fans harking back to perceived slights and grievances from twenty years ago? Just a thought.

Maybe it's because we had to wait 14 years to beat our rivals at GP. Last time we beat any of the top teams away was 12 years ago and that was when even Sunderland beat them. We haven't beat Chelsea, Arsenal or RS away for a very long time with fans in ground. We have got to 1 final in 30 years. Endless defeats in early rounds of FA cup or League cup tends to leave our fans pessimistic. Calling our fan base entitled is one of the most ridiculous statements I've seen on here. Palace have beat Arsenal, Chelsea, RS, Spurs, United and City away in recent years and won a trophy. Brighton have beat United, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea away from home. Brentford and Bournmouth have beaten top sides away from home. We are only side that have played RS this season and not given them a game. I watched Red Star go to Arsenal and try to win, when have we done that in last 3 decades? Considering many Red Star players have normal 2nd jobs, was impressive.

I take comfort in the fact we've been here before mate, been dog dirt relegation perineal and signed and developed players under this manager before to recover the club via an upheaval of player identification and development..

I think there are parallels to the summers of 06 & 07, i think right now is the worst our new signings are going to be.

He could have told Kenwright to help prepare for the following season. But hey May with nothing to play for,that was the standard.

We been in relegation scraps for the most of the last 4 years. The football has generally been awful. We've suffered points deductions. There was a risk the stadium wouldn't be finished and the financial backer of owner (who has lost most of his money) has been sanctioned. Lighten up and try to be happy.

Did you read my post or just reply ? I typed the below , my issue is your use of the phrase good times. You appreciate I can enjoy it without thinking it Worthy of a DVD of an open top bus .

If you'd offered this situation to us exactly one year ago, I think pretty much every single person on this forum would have begged for it.

It's just a long term project to get back to being 'good'. European places this year was never going to happen outside of freak circumstances. Next season that's something to hope for but not be too stressed if we miss it as long as we're moving in the right direction. Season after THAT is when I think we should *expect* that level assuming the project has kept moving at a good pace.

Football fans are impatient though.
