Maybe some of these things are already playing out in front of us, thinking back to that presser and Moyes demeanor in it. Yes he had the final say on players, but was it just a final say out of a pool of players put to him rather then a say on players he actually wants on board himself..

Hope I'm wrong, but moyes is old school and will he really buck his trend to align himself with the modern structure of transfers..

I didnt see it all, but maybe it tells you more then its set out to..

Again I hope I'm wrong, but going forward Moyes is gonna have to give an inch on his football ideology...

Apparently during his last season at West ham , he had some friction with the new director of football they brought in, wasn't fond of some of the signings. Moyes like you mentioned is very particular about his vision for recruitment so I could imagine there was some light squabblee regarding players this most recent window

Tbf their signings stink of an overly cosy Agent-owner relationship, rather than one that is data led

Moyes isn't the problem unless he doesn't fix the issue. It's a new squad so he is learning. He has to get Ndiaye and Grealish to link up though. If our play runs through Jack and KDH, Ndiaye has to be in the midst of that. He needs to get more central or moved centrally. For starters he is not a right winger. It is one of his weaker positions. If he is to play on the right he will have to drift in attack. There are other issues obviously but this is a big one for me.

I would agree … but for 30 years old and younger fans …. Their best memories are the Moyes years … and therefore I can understand why someone like the original poster describes them as glory years .

Surely a man of your vast intelligence, knowledge , while being an expert in human behaviour can understnd this?

Times change and you have to be realistic. Dundee United and Aberdeen could argue the same thing, but the economics of the game have changed massively.

The money has ruined the sport and the club just needs to try and build up so it can compete again.

Not having realistic expectations can only lead to disappointment.
 
He simply has to mix it up after the utterly disastrous last 10 days. If he doesn't, he's a dead man walking as the results will not improve with Ndiaye nullified on the right and one of two useless crabs up front, alongside zero effective full backs.

Dibling in, Ndiaye false 9, Garner right back, Röhl alongside Gueye if fit, Alcaraz in the 10.
if no Röhl, Garner centrally, O'Brien right back.

I want:
Pickford, Garner, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko, Röhl, Gueye, Dibling, Alcaraz, Grealish, Ndiaye

Obviously he won't do any of this though and it'll be the lazy approach of Iroegbunam for Dewsbury-Hall and Barry up front, then expecting results to somehow improve.

Therefore I expect:
Pickford, O'Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko, Gueye, Garner, Ndiaye, Iroegbunam, Grealish, Barry

When Moyes finds something that works, he tends to stick with it, even when it’s no longer working. Think your expected line up is pretty much what he’ll go for.

But we've all seen Leicester winning about 4 trophies since we last won a trophy. Leicester!

We cant be claiming a glory season / period for finishing 4th-7th for a few seasons.

It makes a mockery of our real achievements as a club.

They were our 'competitive years' in the PL, not our 'glory years'.
