2025/26 David Moyes

Last night is a perfect example of why Moyes isn't going anywhere. I don't know if he'll stay beyond it, but I think he's at least seeing his contract out. In many ways, all the criticism about him is true. He is a stubborn sod who is set in his ways and has a very clearly defined glass celling. I don't think we have much to worry about that though, as when you've been dwelling in the basement like we have, the glass celling is a long way up.
We're not winning the league and we're unlikely to win a cup (though we should demand a proper effort to go on a run). Accepting that means he has an obligation to provide some glory somewhere for the fanbase. That means winning a derby or beating some of the so-called big boys now and again. These games matter for our self-esteem. They provide fantasy for a fanbase enduring mid-table existence, at best. If you're going to basically eliminate winning away at these places - and Moyes's record speaks for itself at these places over the years - that leaves very little room for glory. Last night was glorious. These is a lot of value for a manager in glory. Hopefully he now sees that. And feels it.

First team to win in at OT in the prem era having a player sent off.

Which is mad because must red cards are in the last quarter of the game.

Saying that this is one the worst ManU teams and manager of the prem era.
There's players there, and the manager doesn't seem as much of a tit as a great deal of the former incumbents, who has convinced them to dive at every occasion needs looking at, and I reckon they'll evolve when they move a few problem characters on. Sides go through stages of change, only got to look at how city are coping with their rebuild.

Good post that.
