2025/26 David Moyes

Thought Barry was excellent tonight, and last game. Theres a player there.
And no way they sell Dibling next season.
I agree. I really like Barry so hopefully he keeps starting him. But you can’t really argue he’s made progress going from scoring a decent bit in Spain to what we’ve seen. Like it or not we are pretty dependent on him figuring it out.

Dibling I don’t even know what to say. We’re not putting him on the field and at some point that’s going to be a problem for him.

Dibling will get time when Ndiaye goes to the Afcon.
Barry's time will come.
Moyes uses strikers to feed attacking midfielders (like Cahill)
Dont expect him to score a truck full but he'll be a great team player.

He simply MUST keep using KDH as a CM and not as a 10. This has been the key to the last 2 performances.

I'd say KDH & Garner central and either one of:
A Conor Gallagher type fighter
A Wharton type ball player
An Alcaraz cutting edge player

….. :lol: :lol: :dance: :dance: nothing more certain than this post. All this is about is getting your beloved Alcaraz in the team but there’s no disguising what a dreadful day it was for Zat;

- His hero Thelwell sacked just 4 months after predicting he’d take Rangers to the top.
- A tactical masterclass from his tactical nemesis Moyes.
- KDH scores the winner in a complete performance.
- no likes for his war & peace posts.
- I suspect a sleepless night

We just beat United away and you're still moaning. Can tell you're from nowhere near Liverpool, you massive flute.

Feel free to follow another, better team then. If you can’t take joy in beating the Mancs in their own backyard you’re not an Evertonian.

I can't stand the way they post, really gets on my nerves, but I don't think that's fair at all. What the hells where they are from got to do with?

Last night is a perfect example of why Moyes isn't going anywhere. I don't know if he'll stay beyond it, but I think he's at least seeing his contract out. In many ways, all the criticism about him is true. He is a stubborn sod who is set in his ways and has a very clearly defined glass celling. I don't think we have much to worry about that though, as when you've been dwelling in the basement like we have, the glass celling is a long way up.

If we had absolutely fluked our way to a win there I would still be delighted but not be overly changed on my opinion on Moyes and the plan in the summer

However even during the real backs to the wall moments, I saw something different in how the players tried to use the ball than I would have normally expected. On top of that we started well and really controlled it with the ball at our feet.

I was already saying I'd prefer a change in the summer, but that it wouldn't be terrible if they decided to keep him on next season, but certainly that performance went some way to erasing the annoyance with his cup shenanigans and getting me on the road to actually believing in him a bit

Hopefully kicks us on and we continue to see that attitude and team spirit (apart from the madness)

I just see this as a complete misunderstanding of how a club like ours needs to go about building a better squad. We don’t need to spend years “rebuilding our reputation.” We need to find players with the right profiles interested in playing in the best league in the world and making more money in the mean time while they position themselves to play for even more money and prestige after that. Once we have that pipeline established we can work on turning it into consistent European places and hopefully trophies.

Bournemouth were in the championship 3 seasons ago. Gary O’Neil kept them up. And they sacked him because he’s not good enough. They’ve bought a whole host of players and sold a bunch more. That’s how it works. You aren’t going to make 100% good signings. It’s a volume game to some extent. You can’t be afraid of failures. Target the profiles for what you want the team to be and hope you find enough successes to get it together. We have the advantage over a lot of clubs in that if we do get a talented team together we have the support to actually keep it together maybe. Palace did similar with Roy. They could’ve rode that until the end of time. But what’s the goal?

Those players you talk about have fifteen other premier league teams they'd rather play for than us and usually teams in Europe that can offer that which we cannot right now also. We simply aren't that attractive compared to our peers, and we definitely were not more attractive before Moyes moved us out of the relegation battles into midtable.

Nobody has done it in a season and made it last which is what you appear to be demanding. Name one club that you think we should be modeling ourselves after that hasn't hit a glass ceiling, FFP issues, having their best players raided, or any of the other things that happen to stop Everton or even Newcastle from really competing.

What have Bournemouth accomplished Iggy? 8th place. It's admirable but they aren't going to get any better than that and they didn't do it one season did they? They came up and finished 15th and then went top half. That's what we are aiming to do right now and you're moaning it's not fast enough.

We are not playing at a top half level. We also have the oldest team in the division. It’s going to be hard to take a step forward next season. That’s really the issue I have. It’s not bad right now.
Welcome to the reality of our situation. We have had to shed off a ridiculous amount of contracts and players have left for zero value on frees because of horrific transfer business. We are still not clear of it. We aren't the same as a club coming up from the championship, we have baggage.

Do you think anyone was giving a contract to Coleman and offering one to to Dom because they were good football decisions? No it's because we are trying to put this shell of a club back together after it was hollowed out by Moshiri and a series of crap managers with open cheque books.

We've been limited by FFP how quickly we can spend our way out of it and we weren't attractive enough to seduce our top targets last year. If we improve each season the standard of player we can attract improves as well.

….you could see the doubters queuing up ahead of this one but its only November and he already has us above RS in the table :bye:

Doing a terrific job.
He needed this. Right now, he IS doing a terrific job - as he is getting the results we crave. But the doubters have had every right to doubt him. The no-show at Anfield until he'd realised he'd given them far too much respect was just the latest example of him underestimating our own potential. It's for him to shut us up. And to do that, he needs to build momentum. Three tough but winnable games coming. The Dyche derby is fraught with meaning. But, for me, I just wanted to see an Everton team go to somewhere like Old Trafford...and win. That buys Moyes a hell of a lot of credit from me. Because it's his own cautious lack of belief that I find unacceptable. To see his team fight like tigers against the odds was beautiful. Unexpected, sure. But a magnificent effort.

We are Everton. We can win occasionally at these places. Maybe the manager realises that now too. If he does, who knows where this could lead...
