2025/26 David Moyes

100m?

That buys you 1 really good player, its nothing money, certainly not enough to make a team go from Relegation fodder to CL.

For context Roberto Martinez spent 115m over 3 years and managed to take the club from 5th to 12th.

Excuse me sir, but it looks like you're comparing £100M in a single summer with about the same spent over 3 seasons and six transfer windows.

Can you please clarify that IS your position?

yawn yawn
ariola ariola something something
Dave ignores we spent less than Bournemouth

Also, it was the first window we spent of note for some time. Its only the beginning of revamping a terrible and unbalanced squad. One consistently in the relegation contest for at least 2/3 of the season in recent times.

You can bet that if we appointed that fat necked bellend at Bournemouth they would be saying "He needs a few seasons to judge".

People hate Moyes, he was always on a hiding to nothing, 4 games without a win is like catnip to these people, most will be wearing a Palace shirt on Sunday, ive been there, so I understand, just wish they would be more honest about it.
In fairness the Bournemouth fella looks really good, he lost 4 of his back 5 this summer but it seems it’s business as usual for them.

I just don’t see how it’s being used to criticise Moyes (or any Everton manager) we were never going to do anything this year when our strongest team involves O’Brien at RB, Mykelenko at LB and Beto as our first choice striker.

We’re playing cards at a crooked table. If the league started the Day Moyes started to today we’d be 7th despite going a month without a win. He isn’t our problem, just yet, although his cup team
Was a disgrace given it was Tuesday to Monday, in terms of when we played.

The last 4 games have proven to me that we are miles away from being anywhere close to where we need to be, we wont be involved in the relegation battles but we utterly stink.

Hes not even my lad, I didnt want him when we appointed him and im not really arsed if we sack him, but we should sack him for results, not cos he hurt your feelings 15 years ago.
Results works too.

I can see a very tough season ahead because he allowed us to see the window out wasting £100M and not getting a goal scoring striker in nor pace at FB.

We are predictable and will lose more than we win. The only way we can change that with current squad resources is to use them in a different way...something the dinosaur cant do.

Agree we’re still miles off. We’ve added some nice footballers but we still lack a RB and LB who can offer something in attack, quality in CM and a striker. Could probably do with another top CB too. So miles off really.

Moyes has averaged 1.42 points per game during his Premier league career, Martinez 1.19 in less games (which should make it easier to up the averages)

It’s not even close between Moyes and Martinez.

Martinez started the mess we’re in and we’ve never recovered.

As said Martinez is to Moyes what Walker was to Kendall.

Nar, I really dont, I see a squad without any fullbacks or Strikers.

He performs a miracle every point he gains in my eyes.

Transfer window was crap IMO. Not sure how much of that is down to Moyes, but seems like we were pre-occupied with a ‘premium loan’ rather than anything strategic about what the squad actually needed. (Ie pace, goalscorers, fullbacks..)
