He just isnt arsed. Bread and butter league crap and not taking into account the desperation of Evertonians and the desire to get this 30 year wait & weight off our shoulders.

Just took the absolute piss tonight, just like every Manager since Royle has. Not good enough and any flak he gets his thoroughly deserved. Hes not beyond criticism and I hope those at the top make it very clear.

We're short in full back and up top positions but tonight's team selection was just him not taking care of business and opening us up to defeat.

Its ok, he will be gone soon, then the next fella will do the same when the cups come around, cos thats what PL managers do.

It simply wasnt good enough, thats football Tim.

I get it, we lost, straight off a defeat to Evil FC, so I get the anger, im not here to tell you its ok, cos its not, but, on to Monday we go, 3 points are a must I feel.

For me the league is our bread and butter, currently, maybe when we have grown a bit we can look at going deep in cups, the last Everton manager that managed it was some fella called David Moyes.

What is the ambition of the owners?

Look at many of our fans. Are they that bothered? Some are, plenty aren't. This merely reflects the also-ran status of the club that has been run down over 30 years. Low expectations, low standards. Mediocrity rules.

These new owners have been far better than previous ones - and this manager has been far better than previous ones - but when you look at what came before, is that difficult? Is that an achievement?

The club is going nowhere. Tonight was any League Cup match at this club in nearly any September this century. An expected defeat - even against sides we should be beating. Not a priority.

Until our managers are tasked with winning these games, nothing will change. We'll aim for 12th and be happy with it. "Progress", they'll call it.
 

Unlike the period under Moshiri, we’re now massively attractive to managers. PL football with no real prospect of relegation, no PSR constraints, funds in every transfer window, brilliant stadium, manager led recruitment.

I’d even wager that if the Friedkins really wanted to they could get any of Emery Glasner or Iraola here, the ceiling here is higher than what they can achieve where they are. I’d wager they could get Ancelotti back.

Moyes has to realise that he can’t throw this sort of thing any more. It’s not Bill and Elstone giving him carte Blanche any more. He is going to get himself fired unless he bucks up his ideas and quickly. Losing a derby and going out a cup in one week because you ‘weren’t ready’ and played a weakened team is always playing with fire as an Everton manager, or at least it should be. Give Moshiri his due at least before Usmanov pulled his money he at least tried to bring back a semblance of performance criteria to the manager position.

I expect Everton to win every game we play, maybe apart from City and Big Red away, possibly Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs as well.

But I certainly expect us to beat Wolves away.

I also realise we cant win every game, so when we dont win, well, thats football Dave.

Of course it's a chance of a trophy. If you are still in it, you can win it. Expectation? No. Hope.

And with Moyes and his pragmatism, that's really in short supply...

And, eventually, that catches up with you.

Things have changed.

Expectations have soared.

The owners just pumped £100M into the squad this summer. We have a new identity that comes with the stadium and we should have been looking to pull all the stops out to get a long cup run at least together.

If anyone believes that's what we just saw tonight in Moyes actions then more fool them.

He's out of step with this club. He's stuck in the Kenwright era when any old tat would do.

Not anymore it wont.

Making 7 changes with all our better players on the bench is not having a good go. And the players who came into the team also showed why they aren't good enough to play regularly.

A result on Monday doesn't make up for today. The next game is always the most important and until that becomes our mentality we will remain a club who aren't successful.
 
Putting aside the abysmal selection, Moyes has got a big job on his hands getting this team to score goals. That's 1 in 3 now and not many chances in those games to boast about.

The full backs are absolutely crippling the balance. As good as N'Diaye and Grealish are, they are constantly marked by two players with no support out wide. Then even if they work some magic, you've either got Barry or Beto in the middle to ruin whatever we've created.

Worth mentioning that the most goals KDH has scored in a top flight season is 2 and he's our number 10.
