Moyes better get their minds right in practice this week. What we witnessed was a disgrace for professionalism
Why should we take it on the chin? At what point of 30 years without a trophy, managers not picking full strength side when the players barely play once a week, why do we have to take it on the chin?
I think its ok to say it simply isn't good enough and maybe the manager and the team should be held accountable and they take it on the chin by losing their places or their job because it shouldn't be acceptable where we just say "well that's one we'll have to take on the chin"
I think I try a fair to say we won’t be scoring 5 in any game soonCould go and beat West Ham 5-0 and I wouldn't care. I really hope he doesn't try and defend the selection.
He's just punched a lot of Evertonians on the nose, and it'll do him no favours.
If you all want to get excited about a cup competition for who can beat the most B teams, then be my guest. It's a clown cup and a distraction from actual football. We're never winning it in any of our lifetimes and even if we did there's no way I'm partying with you scruffs
Let’s hope TFG are on the phone to him as well, no Billy bullshit on his side these daysMoyes better get their minds right in practice this week. What we witnessed was a disgrace for professionalism
Especially considering we don't play til MondayI've always been pro Moyes and tried to defend him but he just broke one of the key rules for me. Its unacceptable to pick a team like that and go out of a competition. I know it sounds drastic but I honestly think he should be sacked. I said exactly the same about Silva as well.
Thats not how it works any more though. Its complete outrage or nothing.I agree, I’ve just said in the match thread,
we all want success but it won’t happen overnight. We need to be patient.
We’ve gone from appalling managers and a mental owner to relatively level headed stability.
We need to build on that, and not throw our toys out of the pram after a cup exit.
From a sanity point of view it’s not healthy to swing to full-on negativity after a bad night.
Yeah I mean I’m all for Moyes, and no he/we didn’t do great this evening but some perspective should be retained.
We need to get out of the habit as a fanbase to not go full on ‘Holy Armageddon is coming’ after a cup exit.
I feel this is almost purposefully ignoring the main issues people have tonight, just to defend the manager
I personally have plenty of patience for us to get better, even under a manager I don’t like, but that has nothing to do with what looks like a decision to field a weakened team and gamble on going through in one of our two chances of a trophy.
You can have patience for our recovery from the recent disastrous seasons whilst still thinking Moyes is a blert for doing what we have seen him do before, and being annoyed or angry at being out of a cup without giving it our best shot….again.
Patience when we do our best (manager and team) but lose, yep. Patience for a manager repeating the same mistakes he himself has made in an important game, no.
As an extra point, I think there’d be a much better chance of the patience many of us see as necessary if they hadn’t kept on a manager who a lot didn’t like or really want. Always going to be the case that he will get a quicker backlash than most managers. Add the circumstances tonight and it’s as clear as day, he will get it from all sides and will have started a snowball rolling now if it’s compounded with a run of poor results.
(Ideally we bounce back and go on a run, as I do think stability is better this season)
I'd take finishing 11th and not having to watch Carabao Cup matches beyond SeptemberI'd take finishing 16th and winning the league Cup, tell the Newcastle fans it's meaningless, I'm gutted we're out
