2025/26 David Moyes

Disagree on Aznou, not that he's ready, just that he's not that far off. Just needs a bit more strength and defensive nous.

With regards to underage teams he was regularly absolutely running games from left back for Bayern's U21s a) when he was younger and b) at a higher level than we've seen him play for ours. He's a serious talent who isn't that far off imo

I think we kind of agree mate, also think he needs S&C and experience defending in this country at PL pace - which makes me think he’s not ready - but semantics.

I’m very open minded on him, do I see him coming in before the end of the season, I’d be surprised.

I think we may see him loaned out next month.

Yeah. I honestly would be throwing him on for the last 20 or so minutes in a game like today - if it doesn't look like we're getting anything out of it, why not roll the dice and at least give him some experience?

I was thinking a loan in Jan before but we're soooo light on bodies now I don't know if they will...we'll see.

On a related note, whoever's the manager next year will likely need to be giving Dibling, Aznou and Armstrong serious minutes. Does Moyes have that in him?

If any of those players don't get a look in next year then it's a huge waste of club assets and likely to go directly against the long term plan so...will be interesting to see how it pans out.

All fair & god points mate, hard to argue with that.

If it was to happen, I think it would later in Jan, when we get a few bodies back and Garner can cover right and full back if needed. I think it will happen a#the crow flies.

All down to managerial judgement mate. You cant play the same way all the time against different opposition. But the manager cant do changes in formation...which is why wing backs wont be entertained either.

I actually think we're playing at times against Moyes' wishes and instincts: his way is to back off playing if we lose a few and go direct. This season though he looks like a manager who's been told that isn't the football we want to adopt and is acting to orders. Probably not, but I am amazed he's stuck to playing with a more open play sort of game...dictated of course by the Ndiaye-KDH-Grealish triumverite.

2 out of 3 of them not being here for a while might see him reverting to a more long ball game again?
Is it all down to managerial judgement yea? Really?
If we had their squad would you expect us to beat our squad if it was theirs, at home?
Ofc you would, but you'd probably forgive a loss if dyche were the manager but Moyes OBE could win every single game and you'd still have nothing positve to say

…..with KDH now almost certainly out, Ndiaye and Gueye also missing, that’ll mean replacements required for 3 of yesterdays starters.

It’s going to bamboozle some posters if Dibling and McNeil are both selected for the Arsenal game

The Arsenal game is a bit unique, given when and how its fallen, the time of yeat the time for them us and our squads stakes for them, league positions and injuries. While i wouldn't wave the white flag at it - its one id look to grock out and dig in.

Its really the four after Arsenal were there is gold to be mined, Burnley, Forest, Brentford and Wolves.

The league will become less compact now, now until the end of Jan is how strong your sqaud is and will separate the men from the boys come the start of Feb in terms of league position.

….yep, although they’re looking a bit flakey. It’s a shame we’ll be down to bare bones but they’re missing players too, I suppose it goes with the time of year.

I remember from his first spell, Moyes isn’t one to dwell on injuries & suspensions, he tends to get on with it. Agree about a decent run of games coming up but this league is so unpredictable and things rarely turn out as predicted.

One thing is certain, we’ll be needing all of our players to chip in over the next month or so, let’s just hope McNeil and Dibling both shine. 24 points is a very decent baseline to go into the 2nd half of the season.

Still amazed we're on the points we are when i look at the squad. We must have the worst fullback options in the whole division. And i dont know the stats off the top of my head but over a season strikers who directly contribute to points on the board scoring winning goals.
Everton. 0 points.
I still question him. Whats his chat to Alcaraz yesterday. You came in last game. Did well. Your reward? You're back on the bench son.
But overall. Given what i think isnt a brilliant squad. He's put enough points on the board so far.
