If I was Marc Watts I'd suggest to him that selling KDH (£28mil), Beto (£20mil), McNeil (£20mil), Patterson (£2mil) would be the preferred approach to January to bring in £70mil.

Why? What makes you think he’s going to spend it any better than he has this summer? I wouldn’t give him any more money to waste. Move him on in the summer and start afresh.

I don’t believe Dibbling, Aznou and Barry were Moyes signings. He’s not playing them for a reason.

Trusting Moyes with money is a fair argument. Not sure I do either. He works better with scraps and piecing together a functioning team.

Its been one window, so likely severel windows before balance is established,

Have to say, got bring in leaders of men. We have too many that role over when it gets tough.

We've kept an Everton great way beyond his playing ability has diminished through age yet keeping the bench warm on the pretense of his leadership skills transcend throughout the squad. I dont see it.

True it’s going to take time but there’s voids in this squad which are hurting us. And they have been obvious for years and were ignored this summer. I find that baffling.

is possibly changing, but with the 3yr rolling period as us haven’t not spent anything for 3/4yrs prior to last Sumer and the new ground, there will be new sponsorship deals.
Was selling the woman’s team done over 2yrs? Maybe I’ve read that wrong.

And we have players like Myko, McNeil, even James garner who have low book value, so they could generate a decent return. I’d only sell N’diaye or Branthwaite, if it was a too good an offer to turn down

He’s head of recruitment, why do his fan boys say he never signed him and he never signed him etc . Paddy Boyland has just said in the byline podcast, Moyes has the final say( which I don’t agree with) should be taken out the managers hands imo

Yes also said Moyes is very hard to buy for. IMO and I could be miles off, Moyes probably wouldn’t have gone for a few if the young players, but I feel TFG have set out their blueprint to him so he’s had to compromise between experience and youth

But we all know Moyes was throwing his toys out of the pram about lack of action this summer. How do any of us know the players brought in were 3rd or 4th picks. If he said No then he gets no one. Blaming everything on Moyes is silly as we have no idea the scale of the mess this summer.

It’s baffling to me, it couldn’t be clearer that Moyes is at the top of the tree. Alarm bells should’ve started ringing when Purdy attended the first meeting about Moyes’s summer transfer plans, then quit - taking a position at Rangers that cannot be on more money than the new one he was offered with us. It was clear he disagreed with the players Moyes was targeting.

i wouldn't trust angus with 100 pennies, never mind £100m.

With the recent debate of Moyes not doing great with young players, i know a big gripe at West Ham is they had the FAYouth Cup winners of 2023 (beating Arsenal 5-1) and Moyes barely used any of them, even in Europa League dead rubbers

I see Scarles got some appearances last season under Potter, Lewis Orford isn't getting a game on loan at Stevenage, Kaelan Casey isnt getting many minutes on loan at Swansea, Patrick Kelly has moved permanently to Barnsley, George Earthy was really rated but never got a minute, was at Bristol City on loan last year and played a lot, Callum Marshall has a had a couple of loans, Gideon Kodua the same & Divin Mubama ended up going to City now on loan at Stoke (scored a hat trick at the weekend) but at the time he was the one people were calling to give a go too, whether Moyes didn't because he was running his contract down for City or he ran his contract down because he wasn't getting an opportunity is unknown
