I wonder how influential his role as manager is in players deciding whether to come to us or not. If I were a player I wouldn’t want to play this style of football, but appreciate that’s just me.
Keep him until the end of his contract now, don't let him sign any journeymen plodders, with premier league experience, no pace, and little sell on value. If he wants the like of Soucek et al then let it be on season long loans. For god's sake get shut of him at the end of his contract. Our owners have shown the extent of their ambition by keeping 'safety first Davey' for another year. I just hope they have the gumption to stop him bringing in aging players on long term, big money contracts.

It's a nice idea but what's to stop him putting his feet up and letting it all burn?
As things stand, he's a dead man walking. Give him a reason to work or get rid.
Get rid is the way, but, if he was going, he'd already be gone. Friedkin's aren't sacking him this summer, so, he just has to stay till the end of the session. The alternative is another short term type type to get us through the season, that can't be allowed to happen.

and not just any player...the one that thinks hes just won his second lottery in life! Not only is he playing in the PL but has just been rewarded with a 3 contract for being so outstanding!

Of course, they will be content with the job he has done. Only way he is sacked is if the last couple of months form continues into the first half of the season and even then there will probably be hesitation to do so.
