2025/26 David Moyes

It’s all the same players.

We just keep selecting Tarkwoski Keane Mykolenko Gana McNeil Beto

We know they’re not good enough.

TBH Garner Iroegbunam Ndiaye OBrien (at RB) aren’t that much better.

It’s not a surprise they just return the same performances over the long term.

We have to be bold and move away from them but I knew this season would go to pot as soon as the McNeil transfer messed up and Moyes couldn’t wait to put him back in the team.

We’ve learned absolutely nothing. New deal for Keane. Wouldn’t be surprised if more followed for some of these wasters. We should be getting them out and instead we’re clinging to them out of fear.

No one can possibly play left back for Everton apart from Mykolenko, god forbid a young CB made a mistake at the back let’s just renew Keane instead, an attacking right back might get caught out let’s just play OBrien, what if a winger doesn’t track back ah screw it let’s play McNeil then when the fans get arsey we’ll play a defensive mid there instead. Doesn’t matter that we have Alcaraz Rohl Iroegbunam and Armstrong on the bench, let’s play 36 year old Gueye every game, even when he can’t run after the AFCON.

Utter utter stupidity and then we’re surprised that they’ve returned pretty identical points totals three seasons in a row.

At the start of the season if we'd been offered to be in the race for Europe until the penultimate weekend with no relegation worries then I think we'd have all happily taken it and seen it as a sign of progress. The problem is the collapse since Chelsea.

You can sense the Moyes fatigue everywhere right now. The form is crap and deep down I think nearly everyone is of the opinion he's never going to be the person to win us a trophy or get us over the line for a Champions League place. It's likely the manager who replaces him won't be that man either but people can at least cling to the hope he might be, whereas with Moyes here it just feels like a hiding to nothing. Even when we're in decent form there's that feeling the blip is just around the corner.

Having said all that, it's almost certain he starts next season as manager, so we have to hope he goes away this summer and identifies where we need to improve. A new forward is a must and probably a centre half too. I also hope to God he's targeting the full back areas because having a couple of players who aren't scared of the ball in that position would be transformative.

I remember his final season the first time around and in the opening months it felt like he'd let the shackles off. He played Coleman at full back (got dogs abuse for keeping him in the team despite the mistakes he kept making) and we played some very good attacking football. Deluding myself I know but that's what he should be looking to do when we start again in August if we sign the right players. Nothing to lose - just have a go and see where it takes us.

The mob chasing out Slot over in that kip are getting their way it seems. There simply isn’t enough will or inclination to mobilise to express fan anger amongst the blues at the dreadful season that’s been. There’s still a sizeable cohort who still unbelievably think Moyes is the man.

Moyes has shown his glass (concrete) closing he will never smash through.

Now is the time to do something ambitious and get a manager who shows promise and tactical promise instead of another season of mediocrity.

They are arrogant and lack humility however they have a genuine desire to win above all else , jn our circles that is seen as entitlement to put it mildly.

I remember one outspoken fan in our fan base comparing Tarks equaliser celebrations to that of their trophy wins and I genuinely sat there in disbelief for at least three minutes.
