…when we get facts and players giving an insight they’re immediately dismissed as ‘stage-managed’ because they don’t fit with the agenda. If a player is unhappy with the manager, I guarantee they’re not going to say otherwise.
Have a listen to the Keane podcast, it’s a very good window into life at FF. One thing he does say is how brilliant Ancelotti was at rotating the squad, I do think it’s something Moyes could certainly do better.
The issue with our fanbase at present is that so many have become entirely polarised with regards to
Moyes. He can either do no wrong or do no right. Those who can see both praise and censure in what he has done since returning, by and large keep their counsel so as not to incur the wrath of the lovers of haters of the manager.
For me (and I didn't want him back) he has done very well to make us a much better team away from home. We seem to have a good spirit in the camp and other than the home performances, which have mostly been dire, he has overall done a great job.
If the likes of Glasner et al were not all becoming available shortly, I would be fine with him being allowed to run his contract out and go with everybody’s good wishes. However, I absolutely do not want him here for the ‘foreseeable future’. The old flaws he had when he left have not vanished or lessened in the intervening years and I feel that with so many good managers becoming available it would be a huge opportunity missed to not take a gamble (and it would be a gamble as you rightly say).
