2025/26 David Moyes

Brilliant.

Yeah, 40yrs, 2 pots Davey, everyone's mid-table anchor ( unless your Sunderland ).

I think he's being outplayed by the new breed. Ok, there's years of crap in our squad, buthe's just spanked 130m with only KDH really looking worth the outlay.

Now Tarks and Keane looking past it ( despite playing only the minimal amount of games, given no Europe or cup runs ).

So his THINKING and priority will be to fix that whilst the full back positions go begging AGAIN, the irony being Moyes failure to fix that last time out is the best reason our backline is misfiring.

We've still got a shot at Europe. I want that for EFC, Moyes will have next season. Unless it's stellar ( cup run and Europe qualification ), he goes now.

I think that's fair, gives him a year for his signings to come good and fix the holes. And if it's more of the same, it's clear he's gotta go if TFG want Europe.

If Moyes stays it will be 2 wide attackers and also a CM coming in to add to the Rohl fee.

Thats 4 players before looking at the defence. Id not be shocked if he ignored right back for a 4th successive window and kept Mykolenko and Tarkowski as 1st choices.

Moyes will go for experience this summer and be happy with 9th or 10th next season.

We'll see Armstrong and perhaps a little more of Dibling and Moyes will take them up along with a 24 year old Rohl as a young player.

Thing is we need a brand new back 4, new DM/CM, new wide player and striker.

Weve probably got 2 or 3 who could step into these roles but too young for Moyes.

Football just doesn't work like that. Say if he makes the same start here as he did at Bournemouth would we have the bravery to let it carry on? We didn't with Silva.

Gbamin & Gana did for Silva in his 2nd season. Could have been very different for him.

The club would need to explain the strategy of building a new team and stick with it.

We've also seen what happened with bournemouth so its no shock round the corner.

Night and day

Look at the Iraola team with Scott, Kroupi Rayan, Truffert, Jimenez who have all been developed rapidly by Iraola.

Hes even had a 18 year old playing multiple games at centre back & 3 of his past defenders went to PSG, Madrid and RS.

Having a top tier coach like him you need to sign the best young talent to fit his system. Its not rocket science and all of those players named and the previous were all known quantities.

We simply need to bring him in and back him with potential stars then let him work.

We certainly wouldnt see our young players ignored all season.
Yeah, he's done great there. Back home to Spain and Bilbao I believe. Shame.

Imagine a manager came in and paired Dibling and George on the flanks, then put Rohl and Garner in the middle. Branthwaite and JOB at the back. Aznou left back, new signing at Right back. Ndiaye behind a new striker.

And we just flew at teams.

Sure we’d take a few beatings but give me that any day over this team walking around trying to manoeuvre Mykolenko into a crossing position to aimlessly float one for KDH to try and head in against a packed defence.
Think you’d tire of that team getting absolutely slapped tbh. Aznou will never play left back in the Prem under any manager, I’ll tell you that.

Aznou & Dibling could be gamechanging for us. Two highly talented technical players who could step into the 11.

If we had an innovative attacking manager focused on youth development we'd probably finish in the same position as this season.

Goals win games and our manager doesnt seem to have a strategy to outscore teams while keeping clean sheets.

Weird SAF wanted him at United as he was cavalier but had his teams setup to be effective defensively as well.

The league is too boring and negative, get an exciting manager like Fabregas or Iraola and we'll not find it hard to field one of the most marketable sides.

Need a big change.

Are you talking about the Mr Whippy British Heart Foundation Celebrity Last One Laughing Domino-hoo-hoo’s Sir Mixalot Cadbury’s Heroes Speciality Tin?
Yup.

It's Europe, it helps draw players, it forces Moyes to use more of his squad it gives fans more games, and a few nice trips. It brings TV revenue to EFC.
