2025/26 David Moyes

So who’s Lancelot then? You know, the Knight that shagged Guinevere?
Are you suggesting that someone in the squad was shagging Boberto’s missus behind his back?

It’s a weird analogy to make, mate…
Given Lancelot was a French invention the closest was either Miralles or Lukaku…

😮

Or maybe he sees Bobby as a John F Kennedy style figure, which means there must have been a “Marilyn Monroe” somewhere at Finch Farm…

No he didn’t, he spent £61m net, stop lying please.
Wrong.

You're talking about players sold and bought while he was here.

The sales of the players he brought in and sold later after he left are more than what he spent on the players he brought in.

*sigh*

It’s not just sources though. It’s the same story repeated in pretty much every publication, from the New York Times, to club insiders to British newspapers.
Doesn't matter, Nolan worked alongside Moyes and knows/knew a lot more about what went on than any journalist or publication, to suggest otherwise is just ridiculous imo. I don't see why he would go on national radio and purposefully tell lies, he said he even went to watch the player for David himself a couple of times.

I never got the Camelot comparison.

@davek Are you saying that Brown Shoes is King Arthur, and the Knights of the round table are the squad?

Does that make Kenwright Merlin?!

Let me clarify it for you...

"Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment, that was known as Camelot."

So of all the clubs who have competed in back to back seasons you’ve found one who has achieved a bigger drop off? And Ange is the hill you’re dying on? How did it go for him at Forest this season?
Not that I have any skin in the game but there's quite a few.

Man Utd, Leeds, Blackburn. Chelsea have done it 3 times in the last 10 years. There's probably more but I can't be bothered to check

Chelsea have had three 25 point drop offs? Are the managers who did that seen as successes?

To be fair, it's three over 11 seasons and one of them was only a 23 point drop off... I don't know who the managers were other than one would've been that season when Mourinho got sacked and their fans still love him (I think, the absolute weirdos).

I don't even know what the stats in reference to tbh, this thread is far too mad for me to follow closely, I just thought the one team 25 point drop off couldn't be right.

And looks like Liverpool have done it twice as well. So it's not that uncommon, although make of that what you will.

It's has to be credit where credit is due. Moyes tweaked his system and it worked a treat. At times we pressed the ball with two or three players when they had possession, players passed and moved more, were closer together as a joined up team, wide players came inside more, players we very observant to what was going on, more forward passing because of the movement and in particular Garner marked Palmer and didn't real let him into the game. Hope Moyes does the same in the derby and marks Van Dijk who'll get frustrated and will not be able to launch them long range boomers to Salah. A most pleasurable result playing some exciting football.
