2025/26 David Moyes

What is progress for you?

After the last few seasons progress should be not to be involved in a relegation battle.

So yes, progress will be made.
Progress for me is comfortable mid-table - with a sniff of Europe all things going well - and two decent cup runs (draw permitting).

I think we are equipped for that given the resources that have been made available to this manager - resources that the previous three didn't have. So, yes, progress is to be expected. Nobody is asking for a trophy or demanding a place in Europe. Turning up at Anfield would also be a good start, but alas.

We don’t have a decent modern full back or striker, yet we will still get mid table, glad you’re on board.

I trust his judgment over yours, given you clearly don’t think we’ve progressed.
Of course, we've progressed. The manager has done very well overall - and the owners have backed him. Why wouldn't we see progress over the last three seasons given the meltdown this club endured and the new influx of financial power? Moyes did particularly well last season and there are positive signs this. But we saw very little of that progress in the first half, today. We need to see it at Wolves.

So one half of any game is enough to pass so sort of sentence on Moyes? This is so much better to watch than what we’ve seen, ironically Moyes is struggling with the same issue he did during a large chunk of his 13 years with us. Aside from Yakubu he never really had a decent striker, (apart from Rooney) and he has to rectify that. If he’d of had us a Lukaku he’d of won us something, that’s without doubt

We turned up at Anfield, we gave them a 2 goal lead, but we made the 2nd half close enough that they didnt even sing their crap song at the end cos they were bricking it.

I'm just surprised so many people seem so relaxed about that first-half horror show, today. That really wasn't acceptable. Losing at Anfield to that side is no disgrace. But we let ourselves down there - and pointing that out shouldn't be controversial unless standards have fallen through the floor. Moyes is a better manager than that - and these players are better players than what we saw while the game was still a contest. On to Wolves and progress to the next round of the League Cup.

Moyes himself said he was disappointed with how we played 1st half. Clearly not team orders.

People expecting us to go to Anflield and play them off the park suggests standards arent low, but rather through the roof.
