2025/26 David Moyes

It was the way the free kicks took so long to come back into the play. That's a general gripe of mine anyway. Funny enough though those minutes seem to get added back on when it's a team hunting a goal against us.
I am normally fair to the refs regardless of who we are playing. But by god. I am positive shenanigans were at play today. Embarrassed at the quality of officiating.

He has to call out and question this refs performance, at least that what is undeniable and against everything the rule book say about added minutes
He also needs to look at himself though. This hoodoo he seems to have against the bigger teams seems to be a genuine mental block with him. People can moan about the ref all they want but the ref doesn't make us sit back and leave huge gaps like in the first half. The ref doesn't make Pickford and the CB's hoof the ball up the pitch giving it straight back to the opposition all the time. The ref isn't making Beto sky every shot he has. He got it massively wrong today from the word go, only when Barry came on at half time did we start to brighten up a little as he has a much better first touch on the ball. We can't be so scared of the big teams regardless of how much money they have spent We must be better in future, a lot better.

Safety first football until the game was lost.

The feller will always be the same. It's why we need someone like Iraola. He doesn't give a shiny one about other team's reputations.

Loserball manager who doesn’t understand the team he has and what they’re good at. Sees a good team and immediately thinks negatively as the best way to play. This is an attacking team. The best players are all attackers. The goal should be to open games up and try to win 3-2. He’s trying to keep it tight and it can’t work because it puts pressure on players that aren’t good enough.

?? I havent said moyes shouldnt be doing better in my post!?

My post about him calling the refs out is not a contradiction to Moyes not having to do better?!

Iraola’s played 6 games against Liverpool, lost all 6 with an aggregate of 18-4 and said he was happy after losing 4-2 in the first game at Anfield this season. Imagine if he did that here.

We will definitely need a new manager to genuinely progress (beyond mid-table). But then we were all told that Moyes was merely for the short-term. He'll finish his job this season but we need a progressive manager next season once the Moyes stability job has run its course.
