I mean no offense, but, come on. David Moyes is not a "learn from this" manager. He plays how he plays and it's been the same for 25 years. The only time people think he learns is because everyone is injured and he has to play the players everyone said he should be playing from the onset and then he wins Manager of the year or whatever. He also needs to learn from these games, three in a row where we could have been 2 or 3 goals down before halftime. I don't want that to be four games in a row on Tuesday. If we keep opening the door, sooner or later a team is going to accept that invite.
I'm over the moon with the progress and the squad full of kids.Just an update on this - Brentford now equal us with 68 points with one game in hand, need at least a draw against Arsenal to go above us.
Newcastle still on 64 with a game in hand.
Both WhoScored and Transfermarket have Patterson only with 239 minutes.Nathan Patterson has played 465 minutes in the Premier League this season and hasn't assisted a goal. He hasn't created a big chance. He hasn't played a key pass. His expected assists (xA) per game is 0.04. He's made 5 assists in his whole career and scored one goal.
Using "not playing Patterson as he offers more attacking threat" is such a flimsy stick to try to beat Moyes with.
It's a myth, Patterson barely gets into the final third and his crossing is statistically among the worst in the league. O'Brien plays higher up the pitch and beats Patterson on nearly every attacking metric. You do have a point about sample size but Patterson showed nothing to suggest he provides more attacking threat when given a run of games..This is just my opinion, but I felt he made us instantly better at RB and Jake instantly better at CB. Nathan was flying up and down the pitch, pressing up high, making crosses, tracking back.

Apologies, typo - sofascore have him at 265.Both WhoScored and Transfermarket have Patterson only with 239 minutes.
And whilst I agree that his minimal minutes haven’t show great figures, O’ Brien, with over 10 times the minutes overall has only 1 assist and is hardly romping away with key passes either.Nathan Patterson - Summary

I agree, mate. I’m glad Moyes is here at this point in time. But there’s a time in everyone’s life as you age where you get caught in the comfortable at the expense of adaptation and change. Not so bad while living as an average bloke. But to a football club, it can be a self-imposed ceiling.I mean no offense, but, come on. David Moyes is not a "learn from this" manager. He’s literally on UEFA technical committees. I’m pretty sure learning is part of his approach!I mean no offense, but, come on. David Moyes is not a "learn from this" manager. That heat map is based on all games right? It's a myth, Patterson barely gets into the final third and his crossing is statistically among the worst in the league.
