2025/26 David Moyes

Genuinely honking. Armstrong on the right? Branthwaite at left back? Are we for real here?

I can’t defend that. As I said I think this will be a violent fork in the road moment for a lot of people.
I’ve backed him pretty strongly but there’s been a few games where I think his setup has completely failed us and those results have been directly on him.

I can’t defend this though, zero need to force Keane back in and drop Patterson. And starting 4 CBs, with the best two out of position is awful.

Hope he shows us up and gets a win but at this point it looks poor.

That is pure Walter Smithball if I’ve ever seen it. I don’t know why he is regressing further and further into an anti football shell as he gets older, it’s like he thinks that’s the natural rite of passage for an aging British manager, to just become Sam Allardyce.

I'm usually a backer of Moyes but if this doesn't do well today he really has questions to answer. As much as Keane has been better under him he's not been so good that he not only deserves to come back into the side but also push two of our better CB's out wide. Although wouldn't be surprised if Branthwaite offers more output than Mykolenko.

We will probably win today. We normally do when everyone flips about the line up. However, the fact that he has chosen to not pair O’Brien with Tarkowski and keep Patterson who has been doing a good job (by the manager’s own admission) all to accommodate Michael Vincent Keane is truly mind blowing (no issue with the Branthwaite position if Mykolenko injured - can’t be helped).

What on earth is he thinking? Just sack him now.
Trying his best to hold onto 10th place in the PL, and trying not to lose from the start. End up with a draw and Sunderland win and send us back one place in the PL. He could have gone with a similar line up to the Villa and Forest away games that we were pretty good in, but why waste a chance to play 4 centre backs in defence. On a more positive note, only one sub keeper today.
