2025/26 David Moyes

A lot of concerning stuff there but the biggest one for me is that suddenly going full throttle every game is some new idea at Everton. This is like the bare minimum of any professional football club, wtf is going on at Finch Farm.
‘but I couldn’t say that I was surprised with the results with what we were going to have available to us in certain games’ - you don’t need to say this bit in public, just giving the players a ready made excuse

if I don't and we stay as a pretty safe, mid-table team, I don’t think it would be too bad a position.” - another one that didn’t need to be made public. These players will just default to the lowest possible expectation and they know that in reality it’s this.
He's a disgrace this feller. An utter disgrace. He calls down this club at every single opportunity and all to protect himself from having some ambition demanded of him because he finds it threatening.

Read that article and made me think is there a massive disconnect between online fans and real life fans? I mean if you read here you’d think Everton and in crisis and Moyes in on the brink.

Then speak to good Evertonians in person, read pieces by professional journalists and it’s a lot more calm and measured. It’s left confused me lads, don’t know what to believe.

Just read everything @davek posts, and you'll be well informed.

Im not to sure we were not tbh mate. Did he go when 1 point above ipswich. And at the time the team couldnt even muster a shot at goal.
As far as i can see how it just all worked out is dyche put a gun to their head and said sack me. Moyes was available so it was a timely fit. No getting a manager out of a contract etc. He just happened to come in and make dyche and his words look silly.
But it still sticks in my mind that the owners were ok to keep Dyche until the summer. The longer it went on that we couldnt even get a shot away at goal let alone win a game the more the likes of ipswich had something to hold onto and who knows where we could have ended up.
26 points kept us up and I think we were on 17 when he left, there’s not a chance With squad we had, of not getting them 3 wins or 2 wins and a few draws. We still had all the bottom 3 to come to our ground. I didnt want dyche in the first place. But if you offered me,
Him to stay on last season meant we now wouldn’t have Moyes.
I’d of snapped your hands off

Believe what you personally read into it..

Everything can play out into the context you want to see.

I keep away from most things nowadays, like pressers and big articles.

Media needs a story, audience need a gripe.

Good news doesn't sell papers..

Quite.

The way we were playing i couldnt see where the next corner was coming from under dyche let alone the next point.
He'd chucked it in aswell. He literally said im cooked.
I reckon it would have been a lot closer.

“For Moyes, the hope is that his team can use the success of the season so far as a platform to push for further progress given that the Premier League table is so congested”

What is Joe Thomas on about? What success?
Standards are in the toilet. The perfect environment in which Moyes's particular brand of competent mediocrity can thrive, hoisting us to, perhaps a postion or two higher than Sean Dyche managed when the club was undergoing a nuclear meltdown.

I don't get carried away with league places - you're up one week, down the next in this current division - but the abject manner of two needless first round cup eliminations demands something more than "12th would be progress" or "at least we're not in a relegation battle."
