It was harsh tbf, he got them 9th, with yeah the 2nd half of last season wasn‘t very good.

Well, I get critics about his style of play, but then you don't hire Lopetegui and Potter also gets critics after a bad start.
The second half of last season was bad because they gutted the team and Moyes was leaving. It’s not like they made any secret of the fact they were talking to candidates. Moyes even banned their director of football from the training ground as there was shady stuff going on behind his back.

There’s nothing contrarian about it. The ‘Moyes was no good with money’ argument gets put forward all the time and it annoys me because everyone always changes the parameters of what ‘money’ was so you get people saying Beattie was evidence of him not being good with money and Baines was evidence of him being great at finding bargains, despite them costing the same amount.

What you're now saying you meant makes literally no sense at all. If you mean value relative to their performance for Everton then how can you possibly have any idea whether that will turn out to be the case? By that logic we could sign someone for £100m but if they turn out to be amazing for us and then we sell them for £120m they were a ‘value pick’, so you’re effectively saying it’s not possible for us to sign someone who does well for us. So I don’t think that really is what you meant is it Mr No-courage-in-your-convictions.
Moyes was great with money.
If you want to see what not being good with money was like take a look at what we bought with moshiris money after he left. Moyes was the manager we needed during that period.

No, he's not played in most of this good run. It is quite interesting to see people who insisted we were a top half side for the entire first half of the season suddenly deciding the thought of us getting as many points as Wolves is preposterous though.
Munetsi .........................................................vs Everton
Larsen x 2 .....................................................vs southampton
Larsen ............................................................vs west ham
Sarabia Larsen ............................................vs ipswich
Ait-Nouri OG Larsen Cunha ..................vs spurs
Sarabia ...........................................................vs man utd (Cunha played this)

3 of the bottom four, we battered spurs and was robbed vs man utd. Ah I see, Cunha got banned again vs bournemouth in the fa cup.

Suppose it goes to show having an able and fit replacement takes a bit of pressure off, allows a bit of rotation and to freshen things up. We've had unfancied Beto and walking wounded Broja deputising for Cal-Lewin and calls for the invisible man (Chermiti) to get some game time.

The squad stinks. Let's face it, it's a mess left by dyche lampard and benitez. Keane is about ready to leave on a bosman, Keane signed by koeman for £25m with +£5m in add ons. Mina free. Gomes free. Doucoure free. schneiderlin token fee exit, Allan token exit fee. We've flushed so much money away on so very little. This is where other sides leave us for dust, there's always some crazy deal for other sides dross for big fees.

Signed for £6m, sold for £4m scored circa 15 goals. Didn't get a proper winger in to provide him the service he thrived on.

If all the signings that hadn't worked out we'd got two thirds of our money back for, we'd have paid for half the new stadium with cash.

Oh I agree. I've been saying the squad is clearly bottom half standard all season, but lots of people disagreed quite vocally. Some of them are now suggesting matching Wolves is a laughable idea though, which just made me laugh.

Beattie was a poor signing, I wouldn't try to argue with that side of it at all. I just don't think that's evidence of Moyes not doing well with big signings though, particularly when the money paid for him was very much in the same ball park as other signings we made who worked out very well.

The squad such as it is has about 6 weeks left before ~ 50% are for the off. There's gonna be some angry exchanges when some of the leavers are offered new deals, and even more aggro when some of them turn those deals down for pastures new. There is a worst case scenario where we go into next season in really bad shape hoping to limp along to January to patch up some of the areas uncovered. There's more trouble due before we're out of the mire.

Beattie signed for Everton in 2004 for £6m
Drogba signed for Chelsea in 2004 for £24m

It's the whole Harrods and M&S quip again.

This has been the case every season since ancelotti left.

His prior goal scoring record in the Prem for Southampton was much better than at Everton though. Cba checking but I imagine the same can be said for most strikers that come here. AJ springs to mind in particular who rather than be in the box finishing was expected to work the channels for Cahill / Fellaini / Yak.
