A little bit too negative for me tonight, thought we could have had a proper go, but I could see the game plan, and with a bit more luck Beto defo scores one. A few more footballers in our side on the break, and we beat them easily.

Daveys luck at Mordor has to change soon.

Also, cannot fault the job he’s done since coming back, and with a few of his usual signings to hopefully come in and our brand new home with our new owners, I’m quite excited and positive for the future.

How about we just concentrate on this actual game instead of obfuscating.
Didn’t play particularly well but should have scored at least one. To get anything against the top teams away, you have to take every chance that comes along. Until the squad improves, we’re going to need luck or a bad day by the opposition to win these kind of games.

It's damning. He's too conservative. In mitigation, he has gone there as underdogs in almost all of those visits, but he's still not even got the odd fluke win - which does tell you something after this many attempts.

He's a good manager, but he's too risk averse in the big moments, as his subs showed tonight.
An accurate summation of Moyes and the clubs selection of managers for the last 25 years.

As cowardly as the tactics were, first half we looked like the more likely to score. Beto very close on a couple of occasions and had it not been for Jack Harrison seemingly forgetting g how to make a simple pass, could have had other good chances.

Second half really where Moyes came into his own. Ran out of steam and goal was coming, stood and watched it, did nothing until we were behind and the game was gone. Always going g to be reactive rather than proactive manager sadly.
Which is why we should be replacing him in the summer.

And waste half the transfer budget when we do it? Do you honestly believe any other manager could have done better than Moyes since Dyche was replaced?

I wasn’t keen at all at the time and disagreed with the long contract but he’s done a great job since he started. No chance he goes anywhere in the summer.

No manager would touch us if they see a manager who has done a great job and done everything asked of him and more since he joined be sacked.

Oh, I agree. But I maintain his return was for short-term gain - necessary - and will come with a cost., i.e., The "reboot" has now been delayed.

Moyes has done well - but he's never the answer in even the medium term. But he's here now and will be stolid, competent, and professional. And that'll have to do for now.
It wasn’t necessary, there were plenty of managers available who could have been better propositions in the medium term. The new owners took a very narrow view of the situation.

We haven’t spent any money on transfers and that’s why you should have a DOF in charge of them. It’s not about what he’s done in last 10 games it’s about how we progress in the medium to long term.
No manager would touch us - don’t be silly.

We didn’t hire Moyes for the medium to long term, we hired him to keep us up this season and to rebuild the squad over the next couple of years, I would be surprised if he stayed beyond his current contract but we’ll see.

If I was a manager, saw the great job that Moyes has done and then he’s sacked, I’d be steering well clear. The Friedkins would also be clueless to hire a manager on a 2.5 year contract, see him do a great job and then sack him after 6 months, it’s just not going to happen unless we collapse, Ipswich suddenly go on a big winning run and we go down.

I don't trust this team but I trust Moyes will make us competent again with a few shrewd signings. Once we are stable with a few better players then we should think of upgrading him. Who with I don't know but I wouldn't be against him seeing his contract out as long as we are not near the bottom again. Steady the ship then move onwards and upwards. FFS we were all very worried and concerned fans just 2 months ago and now we are criticising him getting these players performing well compared to Dyches methods. I am just pleased we will not be chewing our nails off this season to the last couple of games

2.5 years is the medium term. They’ve already shown they are clueless in having a field of one for the appointment and then giving him, 2.5 years, putting him in full control of transfers and ditching the DOF role.

As someone who was really not keen on hiring him, I’m delighted with how he’s done so far, especially having played a lot of the games with no first choice attacking players fit.

With the Friedkins, I’ll see what they do in the summer before making a real judgement.

The words before the game basically means we are going in to battle with one arm behind our backs.

I get it, if you lose it's expected. If you win you are some kind of genius. It's something that won't ever change in Moyes' psyche and for now I'm ok with this to get us on our feet. In 4 years time I want someone who hasn't got an inferiority complex to take the fight to them.

We need a better squad regardless of who the manager is as we’re not going to win games against them (or any other decent team) without luck or an off day. We’ve won 1 game so far this season against the current top 11.
