2024/25 David Moyes

My concern is that we need to get the crowd back on side. I don’t think Moyes is an appointment where it’s going to give us enough of a lift of enthusiasm. We need to have the crowd to help lift us over the line.

If it were someone else coming in, I could see that for a few games at least, the little moans and groans when there are misplaced passes would go away for example. With Moyes in charge I don’t think we’re going to give him that leeway or give him a break or back him as we would with a new entity.
Agree with this. He got a lot of support and patience last time round. I can just imagine a great big sigh as he gets introduced to the crowd before Villa.

Sadly, it is what it is. We either support the team, or not. A few quick wins will lift everyone's mood, a couple of losses will be horrific.

2.5 years

Total Compensation - 12M.

That's what I saw somewhere...seems too much.
Good old Moist .
As close to the caricature of a grasping Scotsman as you’re ever likely to witness .
11 years as one of the best paid coaches in Europe , yet won us nothing .
That was the cost of protecting Kenwright and maintaining the team marginally below the overall position their value suggested they should be.

I don't have a clue pal. I don't work in footy and we have been so crap for so long that I don't keep up with anyone else outside of us.

What I will tell you is that there's not a single doubt in my mind there were hundreds of other managers available that were not David Moyes and the Friedkins chose the one that is.

It's incredibly lazy leadership. You make an off the cuff decision to fire Dyche and you look no further than the last name that's been on every manager shortlist since he took the UTD job.

Where's their due diligence to ensure he was the best man for the job??? These utter jokers didn't meet with anyone else. It's a farce.

Don't put me on the spot to give you a name. The people in the club paid to manage succession plans should have had them ready and been interviewing them. Instead they gave in to every demand Moyes threw at them like the pathetic little begging bowl holders they were. The club is a joke right now.
This perfectly sums up my feelings. I used to keep up with football loads, know who plays for what teams, keep up with foreign leagues, watch most games from the prem. Now I don’t care at all unless it’s us playing. And it’s because supporting us has just sucked the joy out of football.

Good manager, much better than Dyche. I’m going to be positive about this, think it’s a good appointment for where the club is at the moment and think it’s a steady fair of hands and he will improve us

He has to do the job, we all hoped Dyche would have done, to keep us up and then stabilize during his year to give it over to a more progressive manager.

Dyche did that alright in his first full season, but as we said we've gone so much backwards this season that we are at the same point as when Frank or Dyche were appointed.

The crowd being energized is on us. We’re not there to see the manager and he’s not there to get us excited. We’re there for the team. I get it that the manager assembles the team. But we’ve got to back the lads. They’re the ones who need to hear us.

Even under a Dycheball system, you know they were trying. They may not be the strongest team assembled. They might be forced to play long ball or constant defense. But we have to let them know we haven’t abandoned them.

It’s like they were in a bad marriage and the game against Peterborough was their first date after divorce and them being told, “Go ahead. Sure. Sure, you can try kicking it towards goal.”

What’s quite amusing are the people who hold a grudge over Moyes like he slept with thier wife or burgled their house ffs.

12 years ago he supposedly tried to buy a few of our players on the cheap. Also might of called fans a disgrace (never proved) when they boo’d him.

What a horror. Absolute nasty disrespectful piece of work 🙄

Grow up ffs
If you hold a grudge then you hold it forever.

You don't go in and out of it when it suits you.

I cant wait to give him a good booing.

(Once he has lead us to safety, obviously...)

Problem is, I actually think he’s probably the right choice.

I’ll get behind him 100%. Just trying to express the downsides of this appointment. Not even trying to denigrate us as fans either, we’ll all get behind him. It’s just one of those subconscious reactions to him that we can’t help because he doesn’t elicit any excitement or promise.
