I feel like I've woken up some alternative universe. Like some Black Mirror episode where everyone is wearing a plazzy Moyes mask behind their laptops and phones posting on GOT.I think he's definitely an improvement. He's better than Dyche, Allardyce and Lampard.
But like you, I'd hoped we were closer to trying to kick on. We knew Dyche was gone in a few months and if fans are honest, if they were told David Moyes would be leading us into Bramley Moore they'd have been disappointed.
If we got to the summer, would people be saying get Moyes? If so, sound. I wouldn't have been.
It's two totally different situations though, isn't it?
In the Summer you have pre-season, big transfer window, and everyone is starting on 0 points. Hire whoever the Hell you want then, go wild, go for a risk.
Right now, 20 games into the season, 1 point off the drop? Your decision making has to be totally different.
Less of the salt lad ffsI can't argue with someone who can apparently read the future. I'll have to consult Mystic Meg to see if we were going to get relegated.
None of that means that the ONLY choice we should have considered is David Moyes.
My relationship with Everton fundamentally changed with the addition of BFS - that was when I knew any self-respect we had was gone. I always thought that despite our lack of success that we as a club were above that kind of person.Past caring, BFS and the piss goblin, Piggy Smalls, Dyche, just another in along line of safety first appointments, a club that for 30 odd years has had no vision, no ambition and are happy to be the new Coventry, good luck to Moyes but it doesn't give much hope of a successful future
Indeed.
19 games, 1-3 points clear of Ipswich, Leicester or Wolves. We've got to match just 2 of them.
Sign some pace and we'll be sound.
We've got to be more proactive with managerial changes - looking for one in a relegation scrap/mid season and then lingering with them isn't ideal.
This! Can we all just agree to disagree and agree on that.
And don't worry, your still disagreeing with the agree crowd if you just agree to disagree with the agree crowd and the agree crowd agree to disagree with the disagree crowd.
There's far too much disagreeing going on which is why I'd like us all to agree to disagree and agree that's agreeable to those that want to agree and those that want to disagree
Moyes in!
Moyes Out!
Big Fat Sam or Big Fat Spaniard? My relationship with Everton fundamentally changed with the addition of BFS - that was when I knew any self-respect we had was gone. I always thought that despite our lack of success that we as a club were above that kind of person.
Neither would I
but Dyche couldn't hold it together and allegedly didn't want to in the end
Maybe understandable when he knew he wasn't getting a new contract but that is why we changed mid season without many options and without a preseason
I wanted us to go a different direction but all things considered I'm happy enough with Moyes for now.
Doubt it will be 11 years again
Yeh but two of them (Ipswich and Wolves) are looking like they want to really fight for it. We can only match them if we can confidently get a few results.
Would hiring Fonseca have given you more confidence in survival than Moyes?
You have said all along that surival is all that matters this year.
Did anyone else apply for the job?Less of the salt lad ffs
Our form was indicating it, performances were indicating it relative to relegation rivals
Mid season. Did anyone else apply for the job?
Looks similar to how we ended up with Dyche who wasn't even that interested in football at the time because options were few.
Its a bad time to change managers simple as that
Let's not argue anyway. I wanted something else but can see the merits of Moyes all things considered. The more I think about it the better I feel about it
