2024/25 David Moyes

what worries me is we are being shadowed owned and managed here, Kenwright wanted both Weir and Moyes back.

Who on earth is carrying out his instructions from the grave?
"Football is not a matter of life & death, it's far more important than that"
They got that mans influence from beyond the grave
We got Kenwrights

It appears a number of people believe the club is living in the past with this appointment.

Such short-sighted rubbish.

I don't know about you, but I can't wait for Moist to have us playing knife-to-a-gunfight togger, with Beto running the channels. I just hope he adds Gary Neville's brother to the backroom staff, so he can tell the fans a club like Everton should be grateful for even being in the Premier League.

Now go get Wagner Love, Sean Davis and Jason Koumas, so we can be the best-of-the-rest once again.

What a manager!

He said those things because he's a safety first manager who struggles to take the handbrake off his teams. That probably suits our current squad, and probably won't change for at least the next couple of years, so hopefully progress can be made during his contract term.
He was safety first, especially when he arrived, because of the players at his disposal. He knew making us a tight cohesive unit that fought hard for each other, sprinkled with a bit of attacking skill to hit teams when we had chance would yield results. It was far more pleasing on the eye than the Walter Smith years. And look at the players he brought in - some quality attacking players. You don’t do that if you’re all about defending only. The main thing he did was create a real team, with a style the players could adopt and make successful. Bear in mind attacking players are the most expensive to buy, so when building a team on a budget you need to build a solid foundation of being tough to beat first then make gradual improvements. Dyche was a more extreme and less effective version of that - players seemed to be more fearful than resilient. Hopefully Moyes can coach them to be a more solid unit and also attack with less caution and more quality

Best thing about Carlo was you got to see how an undoubtedly great manager would do in a less elite environment. The answer was, not much better than everybody else! That said, I guess at the top it really is all about the fine margins.
True, but we beat the RS at the pit for the first time in donkey's years. Probably not a coincidence because he didn't have the fear. He just raised his eyebrow and sipped his tea.
