2024/25 David Moyes

It’s funny under Dyche I hadn’t thought how much I will miss Goodison, mainly because it was so grim that I couldn’t see past the crap football and toxic atmosphere. But Moyes coming back has allowed me to realise how many amazing memories I have of Goodison Park, how I’ve spent the past 30 years with my Dad going to that place I love so much. As the move approaches I am starting to feel the increased sadness that comes with the move. Last night was one of the moments that will live with me for a lifetime. If nothing else, I thank Moyes for lifting the gloom and allowing us to enjoy our final games at what has and is a unique and magical place.

You know what mate you are bang on the money with that. One of the worst things that could have happened was dyche getting to see out Goodisons last season. He killed the whole vibe/mood. Not only with the football but he was really starting to grate me with his constant dour comments about the club. What made it worse was he was doing it to lower expectations because he couldnt manage the team above trying to grind out a 0-0 so he dragged it down. Self preservation. Yuk.
The wonderful Goodison Park deserved more than Sean Dyche in her last season.

The question for me will be if we can keep this up when games actually matter next year. I don't think Bill Kenwright and money were the only reason we weren't able to take the next step with him the first time. There was a mental block we had any time we came close to achieving something and it showed in many important games and often in our first halves of the season.
I always thought it was purely down to money. We had a great team but lacked a finisher. Also, you end up with a thin squad compared the the top teams in the league as well.

That final season under Moyes the team played fabulous football. It’s not like Bobby walked in and transformed a team of donkeys into some great passing side through sheer will and coaching nous.

Bobby inherited a good , well organised side.
Unfortunately as he never bothered coaching deending set pieces we were in a terminal death spiral by the time he had to go.
A BS conman of the media of the highest order , in my opinion

Davey continuing to pipe Davek and the Dychettes rar down.

Seems he’s a much better manager than the one that left us, and in a different universe to the absolute conman who was in our dugout prior to him this season.

I wasn’t convinced at all about him coming back, i was clearly wrong.

You have to give him immense credit for the change in mentality in the squad. He has brought what Everton is back from the dead.
