2024/25 David Moyes

Interesting to note how close the midfield was to Dom yesterday.

All season he's been isolated on his own with hardly any support.

Take the first goal as an example, its an 8 yard pass from Gana but he also has six other players forward and supporting.

This is where we will bare fruit...bodies forward and having options instead of just hoping Ndiaye or Dom can do it on their own.

I don’t think we’ll see people like Keane again. I think Moyes just wanted to see what he’s about.

Oh he's definitely evaluating players right now, he's told them what he wants and expects then sent them out there.

I doubt we will see very much of Harrison or Keane again in a blue shirt, think Youngs gonna be hardly featured either.

People forget due to the post-Man Utd memeing of Moyes, but before he went there he was seen as one of the best managers in the game.

Somehow due to that blunder he got lumped in with the Pulis types, etc. Even during his successful period at West Ham the stench wasn’t completely eradicated.

This club is a much better platform given its status as a true fallen giant. Everton has a higher ceiling and he’s joining at a very good time given how there is now positivity back around the place.
Yeah I’d agree. As fans we were all annoyed by his shenanigans at Utd but that’s in the past. The job he did at West Ham was very good, and I said at that time I’d have had him back no problem.

I get why some fans werent bouncing off the ceiling about his appointment, but i know i immediately felt more relaxed about our prospects when he came in the door as opposed to the dread I was feeling under dyche.

He’s said himself he’s unlikely to be here for the long haul, but hopefully we can enjoy a couple of decent seasons and then for Moyes to hand over the reigns to an exciting manager with the club in a much healthier position.

They will all feature at some point. The squad isn't big enough currently.

It was intresting to hear DCL comments post match on Sky. He basically said that the team was always capable of that performance. In other words Moyes found the right way to make the set up more effective. Of course it's also a sleight on Dyche. I think back to that pre season game I saw in Nyon under Dyche, the signs were already beginning to emerge.
Yeah it seems pretty apparent now the players were growing frustrated with Dyche. They were trying for him I think, but the style was so negative it probably sapped the will out of them.

I know others have said this but aren’t his pressers a breath of fresh air? He loves being back at Goodison and loves the crowd cheering his name . I don’t think he ever took that for granted.

Don’t forget he’s been led on a few times in terms of a return and still came back . I know the Man Utd tantrums he had still bother a few people ( I’m not going to tell them they’re wrong ) but it is nice to have a safe pair of hands again.

And Paul Merson said Moyes is a sideways move from Dycheball.. is he heck
He's already shifting the goalposts then. According to the simpleton It was an utterly terrible move for Moyes and us when it was first talked about according to that tedious bellend, now its just a sideways move. Pretty soon he'll say its a slightly positive move but not one that will change the fortunes of either club or manager long-term before eventually, he shuts TF up. A couple of years down the line, he'll be pretending how he always knew it was a good move. He's an utter embarrassment.

Stealing a living that bloke. He knows nothing. Anyone with half a footballing braincell can see the difference Moyes has made in just a week.

I agree Dyche and Moyes are similar in that I think they are 'safety first' coaches, but that's where the similarity ends. Dyche was 'keep a clean sheet, would be great if we can nick a goal from a set piece', Moyes is 'keep a clean sheet, but here's a plan on how we will try to score a goal or 2'.

Paul Merson can barely even pronounce basic names and words, he constantly shows himself up for the moron he is. He sounds like a chimpanzee trying to explain what a metaphor is. I wouldn’t trust him to be able to explain what the weather was doing correctly while he’s stood outside
