David Moyes Interview in the Echo

I'm not overly concerned about the summer tbh.

The most important loan (pienaar) will be made permanent.

Drenthe is a 50/50 but if we don't take him I'm sure we'll see another winger come in. I'm also sure we'll see Donovan again in dec.. And that will be perminent this time.

We were clearly looking for another striker in jan, maybe straq's recent performance has saved us some summer money? Or maybe moyes is looking for a different type of striker? A rodellaga type as a different option? Either I think we'll see straq or a other in the summer.

Then we have Barkley who I think will have a big part next year... Can't wait !!

Oh dear I'm feeling optimistic again.
* waits for it to be plucked away loosing players in the summer!

Moyes' interviews in the last few days have been copmpletely OTT and embarrassing. Leave aside the feelgood factor of two big wins against "the big boys" of City and Chelsea (in reality only City, because this is the worst Chelsea team I've seen in living memory) and in real terms all you have is a move in recent weeks from 12th to 10th in the league. Footy-wise there are signs it's coming back (where the fcuk has that been since the beginning of the season by the way Moyesie...that's your job to get them at it from day one of the season), that said there's still shit performances in there as per the Wigan game.

Dont be sold a pup by Moyes on this - all this nonsense about "we have competition for places now, and I wasn't giving fans what they want but now I am". That's the type of comment you come out with after you have everyone full gun and are rattling off ten great performances on the bouince to get the club really back where they belong. Talk about jumping the gun. My toes are curling reading Moyes stuff of the last week or so.

Get us to a cup final again and then maybe he can be forgiven for serving up complete and utter turd for most of the last two seasons.

Well said!!!

Doesn't really explain our terrible starts every season since we signed Lescott and Johnson though does it. He sulks every summer. God knows why?

I don't think are bad starts are due to prep in the summer.

I think there simply down to the players not handling the pressure and expectency of getting results.

Whether that's moyes fault, and there's anything you can do about that I don't know?

Completely agree 100% with this, we've signed some players and won three home games on the bounce, isn't that what better teams in the best league on earth are supposed to do? In between all that we went away to the worst team in the league and played like a pack of c*nts and had to chase a stupid defecit.

A 10 game unbeaten stretch and progress to the cup final will be a better barometer of what "The Moyesiah" can do, I say bring it on...otherwise, in the words of Winston Wolfe, "Lets not start sucking each others dicks quite yet gentlemen".

Ahahaha! Exactly my thoughts. Pretty much word for word how I would have put it. Excellent work sir.

Its right- this time - of Moyes to go out with some positive stuff instead of always talking about problems. Managers, players and supporters needs an "attitude change".
Be happy! (ffs)

I'll wait an see how we do against Blackpool an QPR before I allow myself to get back on the Moyes bandwagon, lets not forget how it was one step forward, one step back at the Wigan game, after beating City.

So when he does interviews saying 'we don't have money, we can't compete' everyone makes a dig at him for being too negative. When he comes out with a positive interview everyone's still not happy. Would you rather he'd have said 'we still don't have any money, and we were awful against wigan we're not gonna do anything with this season', I'm sure that would've caused a similar reaction to this interview fror most of you.

We've had 2 huge wins and made some signings, things have now picked up and it's affected the whole squad in a good way. Things are looking up, it's annoying that we're **** in the first part of the season, but we're clearly not a good enough squad to be consistent for a full season. We've now got a cup run going and can push for Europa again, people need to cheer up!

We have had two huge wins, but inbetween that was a draw against wigan, we the telltale Moyes mistakes in it. I've no problem with him being positive in his interview, and agree with you that critism of that is silly, but I'm still waiting to see if we have actually turned the corner.
