He came in on the back of the Rooney sale and we all feared the worst after finishing 4th bottom.

His enthusiasm was infectious, scoring in many tight games to give us the belief to finish in the top 4.

All the players listed where superb additions to the club, but he gets my vote.

Besic has come closest to it, but unfortunately is always injured as he is constructed entirely from soggy cigarette butts stuck together with bbq sauce.

Actually think Moyes got lucky with Martyn, he was first signed to be backup to Wright and was sat on the bench for a few games at the start of that season. It was only when Wright got injured and he came on against Newcastle (?) that Martyn came in and cemented the spot. Still an amazing player for us though, and if it weren't for that stroke of fortune we would undoubtedly have gone down that season with Wright as our goalkeeper.
