We are looking for an experienced and creative Data Assistant to join our busy Marketing team!

Reporting into the Data Manager, the post-holder will be assisting in the administration and development of the Club databases. As well as extracting data to support our world-class marketing campaigns, you will also be assisting in the analysis of the data we hold and helping to spot key trends which will inform how the Club does business.

i spot a few misleading quotes in that job ad

1) As well as extracting data to support our world-class marketing campaigns
2) analysis of the data we hold and helping to spot key trends which will inform how the Club does business. I don't think you need a number monkey to point out we are pretty sh1t at marketing and doing business in general
3) The role-holder will have excellent communication skills..mmmn...in other words, you will have a twitter account and talk bull every day

It's not a bad job for someone with the right skills to be honest. If I didn't already live in NYC I would probably apply for it. Shame they don't mention what the wage is though, if it was enough I'd even consider it from here.

Thanks for the heads-up, GOT.

Probably a lower level position...good for someone right out of Uni, or with a couple years experience. Probably just need solid skills in SQL Server (I'm guess that's what they use as the database).

Edit: I just clicked on the link and was right. 13 years of experience in IT recruiting, and I can read these things pretty well. Although they do say "experienced" they don't signify how much. And the title is "assistant" which leads me to believe it's a lower level role.

So any local lads with SQL Server skills?

just used SQL server in my Data Warehouse module, got a 1st which i was chuffed with, would seriously love this job if i a) didn't live in swansea and b) could move up to the area i.e. had no commitments :( damn gf with 1 year uni left and an unwilligness to move. should start a poll of wether to leave her but that'd be harsh

SQL? More like excel and access db's with some data mining thrown in for good measure.

I'd guess you have to be able to write SQL queries pretty well, a skill you're not going to have if you just know Excel and Access. I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know, but there's an art to writing a good query to pull data, and then be able to analyze it.
