Providing we get Barry back again which I'm sure we will, Gibson will make a brilliant option to rotate and offer cover for our starting two.

Add Rodwell to that too, which I think bobby will do and that's two very good options in reserve. Although a little injury prone!

Think we have to remember its quite hard I would imagine for us not being realistic title challangers or CL participants to sign players of the higher quality who are not being guaranteed starting spots or silly wages to be squad players.

Ever Benaga for example who could cost 5-10M plus high wages and arguably not better than the combination of Barry and McCarthy.

I'd be happy with a more often than not fit Gibson and Rodwell supporting Barry and McCarthy and maybe some game time for Ledson.

If he manages two fairly injury free seasons he'll be one of the best centre midfielders in the league. Really. Sounds mental, I know, but he's quality.

If he manages to live like a pro footballer he may stay injury free. My mate was in a pub his mate owns a good few weeks back and Gibson was in there absolutely smashed on the karaoke, giving it the big I AM. Behaved like a tool enough for my mate to tell him to pipe down, he was with a load of his hangers on.

Gibson's quality, dont care what he does off the pitch. Wasn't the ale that ruptured his ACL. If he was a lout Martinez would not tolerate him, instead he rates him and gave him a key role in pre season. One of our best players when fully fit and the best passer of the ball in the side.

Thought this, too. Neither would Moyes IMO.

Rubbishing footballers on Internet forums with a "my mate" story is really classless.

Gibsons a decent footballer needs more time on the pitch rather than the physio room though, hopefully this is the end of his bad luck. If he can stay fit he'll be a good asset for the squad in what hopefully will be a long and busy season.

Alcohol makes players far more subsceptible to injury, they increase the chances of strains and tears due to dehydration and poor nutrient absorbtion/recovery.

Not doubting the rest about his ability, but I do believe my mate when he said he was hammered and behaved like an absolute tool. He was supposedly trying to regain fitness at this stage.

You want a picture posting? Now that would be classless, but doable. It was in April... My mate loves a bevvie, he said Gibson was going way OTT.

Oh come now

He's good, but he's not THAT good

Sometimes Gibson is just so massively overhyped in certain circles

He's decent and very good at what he does, but he's nowhere near one of the best CM's right now and he certainly won't be when he's 2 years older

He's a solid option in the middle of the park whom, when he's not injured, can contribute well to the team. But he's not an exceptional talent. If he was, he would have never left Man United

He's just good, nothing even close to bad, but not amazing. He's a good player who gets hurt too much, and hopefully he's managed to nip that aspect in the bud

Oh so that's totally proven in humans now is it? Last time I checked that was theoretical based on some previous experiments on rats?

Anyways, it doesn't make you far more subsceptible, whatever that hell that word means. When tested with bodybuilders they found no noticeable difference, apart from fat storage or if the subject drank about a bottle of voddy, every day.
