Darron Gibson

Right. I've seen some good things from Gueye this year to suggest he can play LW or LM very well. He's Royston-lite. All those players are under 25 and signed for 4+ years, if I recall correctly. He may move Barkley to Cahill's role, and Rodwell in as holding mid with Gibson.

I'm talking medium term. I think he would like Gibson to get up and down the pitch, like Rodwell. They seem to similar to me to play in the same side. Rodwell is more defensive at the moment because Cahill plays ahead of him, but Tim can't have more than a couple of years left in him. Barkley might move more centrally eventually, but he'll still only be 20 in a couple of years and it's quite a pivotal role.

I think he'll prove to be a really good signing.

He could be a bit hit and miss when he was playing at Utd but when he was playing well his passing was great, good technique and he can score.

He's defo not in the Carsley, Heitinga mould. He's much more of an all round midfielder who likes to attack, rather than sit back and hold the midfield together defensively.

I think anybody who signs will boost squad numbers at the very least and with prem experience that's only a good thing at the minute

i dont rate him and imo he will only be the player that opens the door for rodwell to be sold.
he signed for us so i will back him 100% and hope he comes good.

but i have 2 man utd supporting brothers and they both say he is pants , worse than wes brown and laughing there heads off calling everton man utd c team rejects. they may be my bros but we are gonna have a punch up :)

Smack em lid. Its the only way to deal with ******** brothers.

i think another bonus other than 1.its a signing that adds to the squad 2. his age 3. his experience and 4. the price ,5. his versatility .... is the fact its a permanant signing and not a 'papering over the cracks loan signing ' like drenthe and donovan.

next season we will have a lot of players over 30 and 2 of the most talented players (drenthe and donovan) wont be here anymore. i think we will need atleast 6 new faces in to cover the aging and vacated by loans places. now with this signing its 5 imo.
