Such a shame. If fully fit I think he'd be pushing Barry/McCarthy hard.
Agreed. When on form he is one of the best central midfielders in the league, pulls the team around the park with his passing.
But because he's been hit by injury so often people haven't seen it and so forget.

this is what irks me - no offence to gibson here - he's barely played football in his life and yet he's still been earning more in a week that most of us will see in a year. how is that fair? i'm never sick from my job, but i'll never get to retire at the age of 35 for life. gibson's done very very little in his whole career and yet set up for life for kicking a ball once every 6 months - world really shouldn't work like that.

I don't think he'll make it under martinez, the system we play under RM requires the 2 holding midfielders to have alot of movement in shielding the back 4 I don't think gibbo is mobile enough to do with McCarthy nor the intelligence that barry does in his postioning.

Also massively injury prone, for me I would look to flog for a few mil in the summer and get song in
I think it's the injuries that stop him, not that he won't fit - he was good in the preseason and the 1 (IIRC?) game he started after that, as well as several cameos - it's just that every time he's back from injury he just looks slower and slower...

It shouldn't work like that whether he plays his entire career of football or not.

he's the one born with the talent mate, don't think we will ever see him back to his best mind, which is a shame, I like the lad

Wonder how slow Kone's gonna be at 33 and after a year out

I miss him. We miss him too. He's a slightly more dynamic, slightly less refined (in some respects) Barry. And we need him to at least push Barry to play well.

He'll be back over in Dubai soon on rehab with his personal trainer.

Rehab consists of loads of Guinness then falling over and cutting his head.

WHEN fit great player. Never get more than 6/8 games on the run from him.

Give him away and get his wages off the books.

For me, even when fully fit there's no way Gibson would ever be ahead of either Barry or McCarthy.
